overheating while towing with a/c on
The other day i was bring my boat home from our lake house. i drive about 25 miles of back roads before hitting the highway. while on the back roads the engine temp was fine with the a/c on tranny temp was good , road's had hills and curves doing about 45 to 50 MPH. After getting on the high way doing about 65 to 75 MPH the engine temp started to rise one line past the 210 mark ,tranny temp was good. i turned off the a/c and the engine temp went back down. so i drove most of the way home with out a/c. I got about 15 miles or so from home and thought i would see if i could get it to overheat again by turning the a/c back on and it went back up as before and i turned the a/c off again and it went back to normal. I have a 8" coolant fan on factory trans cooler but does nothing for the engine temp or tranny temp while driving, it will cool down tranny while setting still, I had the fan on the whole way home... You have the trans cooler, then the a/c condenser, then the radiator, the added heat from the a/c condenser heating the radiator causing the engine temp to rise, the tranny temp was ok, it went up alittle but nothing like the engine temp.....ANY IDEALS......
Thanks
