Default No power to windshield washer pump

the windshield washer wasn't putting any fluid out in the front or back and i didn't hear the pump turning on, so i bought a new pump and took out the reservoir, even the new pump won't turn on, i checked the blue and red wires going to the pump and no power at all is going to them. checked the fuse, its good, relay is good, both wipers work, just not getting fluid.

anyone else have this problem before?

Default Washer

Mike,

Check BOTH under hood fuse panel AND the instrument panel on the left side by the drivers door.

Another possibility is you might have a short in the turn signal switch that operates the wipers.

See attached is the wiring diagram.

The wiper-motor pluse board gets the pump power via connector "A" with the pump connected to "B and "H"

If there is no power on "A" then check the W/S Washer Relay (top right of the diagram.

However is could well be the pulse board itself, these are notoriously prone to corrosion.

The pulse PCB is held in-place by the the soldered pins of the main connector, to remove the PCB will take some careful desoldering skills, all the holes are "plated-through" which must be preserved.

If you are able to remove the PCB relays RL1 and RL2 control the washer pump, RL1 is the most likely candidate, possibly corrosion underneath it, again it make require careful removal.

I'll place some usefull images in the next post

Pulse PCB images:-

You can see the corrosion underneath RL1. This PCB was repaired but 2 years later the motor bearing went so a new motor was fitted.

Complete replacement pulse-modules are avialable here.
