Newby- Hummer H2
Hello all,
New guy here, coming from bmw to hummer.. My biggest question about the H2, is once you get passed 80k miles, what goes wrong? Should i expect to a money pit to start up, or should I be alright for a while? Im thinking about purchasing a older 03 04 with around that in mileage, wanting some feedback on what to expect. Thanks

I have seen bad ones and good ones! It just all depends on the history of the truck.
Look to see if it has been offroaded. Thats the big thing with these trucks.
See if you can find service history and warranty claims through a dealer.
A great place to take one when you think you have found a good one is CARMAX. They can evaluate one.
Search around the forum here. We had a dicussion about this last week and you should find it in the recent history.
If you have any specific questions then please feel free to post them here and I am sure someone or I will do our best to answer them.
If it has been taken care of then you shouldnt have any problems coming up at all. If it has been raged out then you could have alot of upcoming repair bills.
If you have any more questions then let us know!

You are really going to want to pay attention the the front end linkage. If the truck has had oversized tires on it I can without a doubt tell you that at 80K miles you're going to have many worn parts.
I run 37's on my 03 and at 100K Miles I have replaced Idler Arm twice, pitman arms, tie rods (inner and outter) ball joints (upper and lower) Hubs-- Uhh yeah these things eat hubs even with stock tires.
If you can turn a wrench you can save a small fortune on these repairs as they are actually pretty easy to replace.

Thanks for all your help.. Trying to figure out what year/mileage is going to be right for me.. unfortunately got a bad bmw m5 and have spent nothing but cash fixing it because the previous owner did not maintain the vehicle well at all. Just looking for something that wont be a huge money pit like i am dealing with now..
Thank you for the link to the forum, will definitely read up and get back with anymore questions/concerns
