Default Need help to choose Tires for harsh Northern Quebec Winter

Hi, i'm going to have my first Winter with my H2, its an 2007 with the standard wrangler tire that looks unsuitable for hard winter conditions. Judging by the thread pictures found on Tirerack.com the only tires that looks good for winter are the

Dunlop Maxx Traction
Goodyear Wrangler Duratrax - (studable)

If I get the Duratrax, should I get them Studded? Im affraid that I might have poor traction with standard All season tires...... When a 4 ton Rig start slippering, might be hard to stay in control......

Any recommendation from someone who got some winter experience with H2 will be apreciated

Thanks

Like the poster above said, the stock BFG's are EXCELLENT in snow and most conditions (minus deep mud).

But a set of Goodyear Duratrac tires would, and is, my personal choice. They will go thru anything, they are tanks in snow, they last as long as the BFG's (around 60k+ miles), and they maintain stock mileage. Plus they are in teh same price-bracket as the BFG's.

I have run a few different sets on all of the H2's I have owned. So far my 2 favorites are the OE stlye BF Goodrich all-terrain and the Pro Comp all terrain. I have a set of Pro comp all terrains on my H2 now and am going into my second winter on them shortly. They performed well for me last winter & have been wearing very well. So far they are my Favorites between the 2 brands.. They are also quiet on the highway and they ride and handle well too.. J

Default Hands down best

If you want the hands down best snow and ice tires then you have to buy the Military Goodyear MT OZ 37 12.50 16.50 tires and haved the "sipped" for flex. I have had a set of these sipped and been on literal sheets of ice with A+ traction. We were trying to cut a donut in a parking lot that was iced over and I almost turned my truck over. Just my opinion. And yes I do sell these but you should be able to find comparable reviews online. Hope this helps
