Default Harsh Ride in H2, possibly the shocks?

I have an '05 H2 with 20k miles and the ride is pretty harsh on city streets. I rode in an 08 with more miles and it was much smoother. I'm guessing my shocks have just gone bad/old over time? I want a smooth ride on city streets and dont mind spending what it takes for that. Please suggest some good shocks if that is indded the issue? I replaced the tires with the same BF Goodridge and that diddnt help. Thanks in advance.

Anyone here with a first gen H2 with stock tires think the ride from the factory is too harsh or is it just me?

Worn shocks will give you a bouncy ride, since the shocks wonèt be able to absorb the bumps in the road and you are basically just driving with the springs to absorb the irregularities in the road. Maybe they changed the shocks on the 08+ models, but I doubt it. Could be that the torsion keys have been turned for more lift, which might make the ride a bit harder. Also, if the H2 is equipped with air suspension, the ride will be a bit smoother.

Default This might help you!!

I have a set of four Rancho RS9000XL shocks that I am selling for $200 plus actual shipping. I just lifted my hummer and the kit came with longer shocks so I cant use the rancho's. They gave a great ride on my 2006 and you can adjust them to 9 different settings until your happy.

If you recently aquired the H2, I bet the previous owner cranked up the Tbars, that alone will make the truck drive like ****.
