Default Door handle stucks when used

My rear door from the driver side has a problem, the handle gets stuck when I use it to open the door. I've sprayed it with WD40 to see if it was a lubrication problem, but it seems it isn't.

Here are some pics:

Any other things I should try before having to open the door and see if anything is broken on the inside?

Had that problem on the passenger rear of my 03, I didnt fiddle with it much. Just took it apart and cleaned the crap out of it. Looked like that was the where all the mud and corrosion went to hide when I washed it.

Not hard to do really, just mind the fiddly bits that hold the panel to the door they get brittle and break. I recommend stopping by the dealer and buying a handful of them before you begin just so your covered.

Both my Hummer and Escalade have the same problem.. On the Escalade drivers door, I was lucky enough that there was a rubber plug in the side of the door where I could spray the crap out of the handle. (penetrating fluid, then some fluid film) I haven't tackled the rest of the handles yet.

I took the little rectangular panel on the inside door handle and sprayed that bitch up with WD40
It's better now, not perfect, about 90%, but it will do for now.
I was going to remove the whole door panel, but then I saw it wasn't that easy, so I just sprayed it a lot, and used the door handle like 1000 times. lol

WD40 isn't a longterm solution, what is a long term fix is to buy some PB dry graphite lube from Home Depot and use that.
