Default Cooling 2009 H2 with supercharged 6.2L going to 7.0L

I have an 2009 H2 with the 6.2L and a Magnacharger. a new 7.0 liter "stroker" will be put in shortly, also Magnacharged. Going for low end torque.

With my current setup I have some cooling issues, especially driving uphill from Phoenix to Flagstaff in summer heat, so I still expect cooling issues with teh 7.0L stroker.....

-Does anyone know if the Chevrolet 1500/2500/3500 HD radiators are compatible with H2's?

-Anyone tried the radiators from Flex-a-lite (57001L or 57000L)?

-From Machimoto?

-Does anyone else make upgraded radiators?

-Anyone tried to say relocate some of the other radiators (Oil/intercooler/AC) to the hood - cutting a real hole where the fake vents are between the handles, placing a radiator there, and using an electric fan? This would provide better airflow across the engine radiator.

I'm in phx as well and cooling was a concern of mine as well when we tow. I run the tru-cool tranny cooler and bypass the radiator. I have no cooling issues with the tranny or the engine. Are you still using the stock tranny cooler and running it through the radiator?

Also, I'd love to check out your truck b4 you move to the 7.0.

i got an '09 too. I was thinking about going for a charger too, but have held off so far.
What does the stroker kit entail ? is it a major job to overhaul ?

What kind of power do you think you'll end up with ?

I too have 6.2 with a magnacharger. I don't have any cooling issues here in Texas but if do have the tranny cooler mod which not only helps tranny temps but with radiator temps as well. Keeping the too separate is a must.

Could you elaborate more on the 7.0 swap? I am very interested in doing something like this as well. I'm assuming you mean the 7.0 from the Zo6 vette.

The shop that have installed a couple of superchargers for me here in Scottsdale ordered the engine from CBM. It is a 427cuin LS7 with a low end cam. CBM website says 540 HP @6300 RPM and 460 ftlbs torque for the normally aspirated engine. I am hoping for a "more balanced" engine with 600 of both HP and torque To do this the current Magnacharger will get a new rotor assembly increasing the displacement from 1.9L to 2.3L My old 2005 E55 AMG upgraded and tuned by the same shop had 750 torque at 2500 RPM and 610 HP, out of its 5.5L V8, so hopefully the 600 HP numbers are conservative.

The engine should be up and running possibly by end of January, for sure by February, it is being shipped here next week

Mulepic, you want to try and get together for lunch maybe one day? I work around 101 and Princess in Scottsdale. Next week is busy, but open all week of Jan 25th...

Mind if I ask about how much the engine swap cost? Minus the magnacharger

The engine itself will be around $15k. Finished installed and tuned, upgraded supercharger, right around $24k

For that kind of money would you have considered a duramax with all the trimmings ? or am i missing something re the performance. I thought some of the tuned up diesels have pretty insane power numbers too, and all low down the curve.
