Default Bose Lux System or Non Lux system?

Hi, i have a 2005 H2 with the 6 disk and XM, I am looking on ebay for a oem navagation , and what im finding is some say you have to have the LUX and some say it will only work with Non LUX, Does anyone know how to tell if you have a Bose Lux system or a Non Lux system in your H2? what codes in the glove box represent either the Lux or Non Lux? i dont wanna get stuck with a navagation unit that i cant use in my H2, any input would be appreciated......

The only indication I know of it the amp under the center console. The lux amp is larger than the standard amp. Unless some knows otherwise.

I went through the same thing when I added the Nav to my 03. I think the bose code was _98 I cant remember the first letter. Any local GM dealer should be able to look up the service code and tell you if it's Bose or not. What about the speaker grilles. Dont they say Bose on them? I bought a used Nav on Ebay and would not do it again. I think mine was HOT.

Google the amps, I found photos of the LUX amp and standard. Just looking at the amps will tell you for sure!

After much research , what i have found is that 02, 03 and early 04's have the lux amp, some late 04's, all 05, 06, 07's have the non lux(premium) amp, easiest way to tell if you have the non lux amp is in your EQ settings you will have (talk, Custom) indicates the premium amp, the Y91 in the glove box dosent indicate you have the Lux amp as most sellers on ebay indicate, it only indicates the bose speaker system not the actual amp, so for some late 04, all 05,06,07 models we have the premium amp, OEM Navagation TNR units that will work in our late 04, 05,06,07 , H2's are part# 15800000,10379287,10377287,15120706 and the navagation antena's are part # 15207447 and 15135178, if its a used unit the dealer can unlock it and program to your VIN........ hope this helps anyone looking to put nav into there rides........

Well the easiest way is yes the Y91 & Y92 RPO codes do represent the BOSE LUX SYSTEM and no not all 05/06/07 models only came with the PREMIUM BOSE SYSTEMS they also came with the BOSE LUX SYSTEMS WITH THE TNR and another real easy way to tell if you have the LUX package is to simply count your speakers, the PREMIUM PACKAGE is a standard four speaker amplified system, however the Bose LUX package has a total of nine speakers.. There are two 1 1/2" tweeters one in each column down by the dash facing each other then you have six mid range/mid base speakers/full range speakers then you have the factory Bose powered subwoofer and the LUX in the name simply means that your Hummer has the Bose system with the Luxury package so your research is wrong or partly wrong and the Bose lux systems are the same wiring harnesses and speaker package for 2003/2004/2005 and some 2006 H2 Hummers so if you take a Touchscreen Navigation radio out of a 2005 H2 Hummer that has the RPO Codes Y91 and Y92 then it will fit in any of the other 2003 through 2005 H2 Hummers that have the same RPO Codes Y91 and Y92 so yes most eBay sellers are correct if they say the unit came out of a 2005 H2 with the Y91/Y92 codes then it will plug and play in a say 2003 H2 Hummer with those exact same RPO codes and the RPO codes don't just mean you have the Bose speakers it means you have the entire BOSE LUXURY PACKAGE THAT CONSISTS OF TWO TWEETERS SIX MID RANGE SPEAKERS AND A BOSE POWERED SUBWOOFER AS WELL AS THE BOSE LUXURY AMPLIFIERAS AN ENTIRE PACKAGE OPTION and it is interchangeable with any other GM luxury SUV/SUT that is equipped with the same luxury package..... Do your homework better next time grasshopper this test you get a C minus
