Does the AirDoc tube come with a shield like the Airaid and K&N FIPK's do? I was curious if it doesn't, how much hot air from the motor it sucks in??

The AirDoc tube keeps the stock air box and gets rid of the restrictive resonator pipeing thats on all engines. It makes better airflow with all that junk off,and since you use the stock air box there is no hot air getting sucked in from the engine compartment.Just get a perf air filter and your good to go.Thats what I am trying to decide, what filter is the best...

i use air aid. you have to oil the filter but i have had 3 different h2s and still on the same filter. you just wash it out and reoil and you are good to go

personallly I don't care for the drop in replacements. To me I feel the seal over time would degrade from the removing and reinstalling to clean them leading to "dirty" air being brought into the engine. I still have my stock tube (can't bring myself to spend $300 on a tube from Airdoc) but I am running a Volant box.

I sealed the box to the fender so it brings in cold air from the stock location. The Volant filters are much thicker than K&N PLUS I'm running a pre-filter for added security. Not to mention its much easier to inspect and pull the filter for cleaning over the stock box. Just a thought.
