Default 4L60 to 4L80 Swap?

Does anyone know of a shop in Southern Ca that can do the 4L60 to the 4L80 Trans swap?

My 2006 tranny just took a dump at 103k. It started spitting oil then no go...
Is this a good idea if I can find someone to do the swap?

Hardest part is going to be a 4L80 from a 4,WD.
But from what I understand its not a real hard swap. I'm going to do it when mine ****s the bed.
And just FYI we have 4L65Es. Not 4L60's.
Get on performance truck.net for all the info you need.

Not hard at all there is a kit including crossmember, wiring harness and programming along with output shaft to mate to your stock transfercase. Do a search here I wrote out everything in another thread. Here is a link with everything you need. Should be completely bolt in:

When I talked to PATC I'm pretty sure they mentioned needing a new front drive line as well.

You would need to slightly get your front drive shaft lengthened due to the spacer used in the kit. Not expensive or a big deal.

You might want to see what the availability of the new 8L90 will be. Its supposed to be the same size and weight as the 6 speed.

Dont waste your time thinking about that. 99% sure it has totally different control module that will take years to figure out how to interface with the rest of the H2. The 4L85E will be easiest and pretty much bolt in.

Monster transmission has a rebuild kit for the 4l65e that will let it withstand more power than the 4l80e/4l85e. They have two tiers one is about equal to the 4l80e the other is much stronger. It's called the monster in a box. It seems to be a cheaper route, and if I remember correctly.
