2008 Hummer H2 Duramax

WOW. Any suspension upgrades? What about the gas tank, just drain it and put diesel in? How'd you add the 2nd battery? And so on and on...You can tell there's a few of us on here who'd REALLY like to take the plunge on this.

@flyday58 I added a 1" body lift as it will get extremely tight with the intercooler hight upfront. You'll have to adjust your torsion keys as you got quite a bit more weight on the front end. It's got the stock fuel tank. I drained and washed it, drilled a hole at the bottom with sump fuel and hooked up 1/2 inch fuel lines to the CP3, can't remember what size the return fuel lines were. The Cp3 pump has more then enough suction to run the truck without a lift pump. There is a piece of metal by the fuel port that blocks the larger diesel nozzles to be inserted but you can simple take that out. To be honest you don't even necessarily need the second battery on these diesel engines if you want too, depending on the climate you live in. They simply run in parallel to give it the extra juice to crank in winter times.
Feel free to ask any further questions!

Absolutely RIDICULOUS!!!!
My hats off to you sir for doing this on your own!
I have always dream about having a Duramax in my 2 but there is no way in the world I would pay for a conversion.
You completed a body on conversion with upgrades for pennies on the dollar compared to what the "other guys" want to do the conversion.
Hell, you could throw together a formal How-To manual on your conversion and sell it. I know for a fact there'd be quite a few customers!
I'm definitely subbed to this thread!

This truck is bad-***! I would like to know more about this build, why he chose what he did, would he do anything different...
I think it is awesome and when my 03 gives up the ghost i would like to go this route to resurrect it because i love my truck and (i think but could be wrong) a build like this would cost less than a comprarable ride. It just makes me slobber thinking about a h2 rolling down the highway with that diesel sound!
More info please!!!!

I did that little song & dance before buying my current fixer-upper.
Yukon Denali/Escalade SUVs cost way more or equal to the whole package. The only 4x4 Denali locally is $70k. The Escalade would be $80. Neither have the offroading capabilities unless you throw on a lift. Jeeps are not comparable, so that's out. The Mercedes G-Wagon can offroad like crazy, but that's $120K+. A Range Rover is going to be closer to $100k...
Even for people paying out of pocket, (who has the time to do this? I know I don't...) it's pennies on the dollar for what you get. It's crazy that there's no diesel offered by GM in any of it's SUVs.
