Default 2" bodylift

I did the 2" bodylift a while back and today fabbed up some spacers for the rear bumper. I still have to put in the long piece across the back under the hatch but the corners were the priority. I attached some before and after pics...

Thanks....I used aluminum right angle pieces as mounts that went under the lip on the body. Then I used 1/8" aluminum, cut everything with a sawzall and bent the corners over a wood 4x4 in a vise. I used 3m tape to secure everything.

Funny thing is, I did a 2" lift but needed 3" wide aluminum to fill the gap. Spent $17 on Aluminum. Better than the $400 the shops wanted to charge me.

I'm in New Port Richey north of Tampa

I did my 2 inch BL today, very simple, toughest part was the placement of 4x4 blocks to lift the body off the frame..

Also used 2 inch spacers to fix the front bumper..

Now i just have to modify the rear, i plan on raising the bumper, i feel it gives a better, finished look..

I'm doing the front bumper soon. I'm going to use square aluminum pieces so I can screw or tape my flat aluminum to it.

Let me know how your rear bumper turns out....no way in hell I would chop my frame.

I plan on using 2 inch by 1/8th inch flat stock aluminum bar, gonna remove bumper, and clamp the bar to spacers, and when i get to the outer spacers, i will bend the bar around the spacer and rivet it, on the inner edge..

As far as the rear, all you have to do is use 2x2 steel , is raise the bumper support, its only bolted on anyway, as to the part that is cut, that is only for clearence, no harm will come to the frame, btw, not even sure if it has to be cut, we will see..

Just the right way to do it, plus for those who off road, it will provide more clearence while coming off an obsticle. ..

Club Hummer Offroad

Yeah, like this? No thanks. Looks like cutting to me.
Also I remember you have to cut the bottom edge of the frame for the bumper to fit after.

It won't give you any more obstacle clearance as the frame underneath is the same except for the couple inches you hack off and lift attached to the bumper.

It does give a better look I agree, good luck.

I'd love to see some pics during the process, especially surrounding the bumpers and if they just fit back on etc. I'd like to lift mine a little more (just have her levelled), but something about fabricating new brackets for bumpers etc that put me off, and not such a fan of the gap. Shame someone doesn't fab up and sell a proper kit, with a couple of variants, i.e. 1" or 2" kits...
