Default Diesel conversion for H3

The other day my stock engine took a complete dump. And thinking about swapping the stock for a diesel. First question is there a diesel engine that will bolt up to the trans and wondering who had this done, who did it themself. Do's and don't and is it worth it.

Thanks for any and all comments

There is only 1 I know of and it was a ton of work with custom parts etc.
I believe he used 4BT.

Nope and nope.

There would be no swapping, more like complete adaptation and fabrication. You would be the second guy on the planet to try it, and who knows how it would turn out after a butt-load of work.

Sounds like the user would have to have a considerable amount of know-how. Does the engine match the bellhousing, or does the trans go with it and it is shaft back?

Anything is possible, practical is a whole different story.

Just use the mechanical pump located on the block and run a suction line into the tank. You will want to remove the filter sock on the existing line in the fuel pump basket if you choose to re-purpose part of that assembly for the suction line.
