I've searched around a bit, but cannot find any information on this.

I recently purchased a new Pioneer headunit (x920bt) and it comes with an external microphone. I'm wondering if it is possible to splice into the existing OnStar mic instead of trying to install another mic somewhere in the cabin. I would like to retain the OnStar functionality if possible.

To better answer your question, I need to know which factory stereo came with your vehicle. i.e. single disc stereo, 6 disc monsoon stereo, Navigation stereo.

 

Sorry to resurrect this dead thread, but did anyone find any information about this? I was thinking of cutting the onstar mic wires and attaching them to the pioneer end connector?

 

I would love to know this too since I have the same headunit. But it looks like anyone who has done this, hasn't posted.

 

I have an '09 H3 Adventure package, so it comes with the 6 disc monsoon sound system and built in bluetooth and Onstar. The mic is above your head and to the left. Is it possible to splice into that with an aftermarket in-dash dvd player with bluetooth capability?

 

With all the people posting about this...has anyone done it??
