With the latest report of Opie and Anthony being suspended today, it has been confirmed by inside sources that they are fired. I have cancelled all of my XM accounts for that reason. This witch hunt by special interests groups basically telling me and you what we can listen too is getting out of hand..
If a huge company such as XM bows down to these little people that get their feelings hurt by 2nd grade humor, they need to get a thicker skin.
What happened to "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me"?

Anyone want a Pioneer receiver for thier vehicle?

I wouldn't run to Sirius, their merging with XM this year to be one entity. I believe that XM bought them out.
I'm not aware of the Opie & Anthony stuff.. but it sounds like thin skinned BS to me too. Another case where the minority has the say in our world.

Hmm.. I thought it was a done deal since they already sent out all the notices to XM subscribers, and said they plan to have the programming integrated by the end of the year.

as long as they don't mess with channel 11,16,17 I'll stick with XM

Umm....Channels 20, 21, 22, 29, 30 suit my tastes...ocassionally 7, 8, 9 and when I'm relaxing at home channel 77 does the trick.

20 is a good channel unless you are 2-3 hours into a 6-7 hour drive... then the same songs get old.... then I found 26.... I am a huge fan of that....

I'll like XM and I've been happy with their service so far. As a former radio personality, I probably have enough music to start my own satellite channel, but XM keeps us from having to carry-around a plethora of CDs whilst allowing my family the convenience of listening to all of types of (commercial free) formats...at the simple push of a button.

If you are carrying around a plethora of CDs, why in the world have you not put them all on an Ipod then just set up various playlists??
I have been an XM subscriber literally since the week they started offering subs. At one point I was carrying 8 radios, nowadays, I have 4.
I cancelled the 4 subs yesterday. I refuse to have a company for whom I pay to entertain me take off the very programming I want to hear just to appease the federal government (and if you believe they did it for any other reason than that, your nuts. O&A have said FAR WORSE in the 2 years they have been on than what supposedly got them in trouble...it was just the subject matter that sealed the deal). If Imus or JV and Elvis were on pay radio, I would have cancelled for them, too.
If you are a fan of O&A, or at least support the idea that we, the consumers, are fed up with these companies being bullied around by the government or communications terrorists like Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton, then you should support the anti XM movement. These companies bow down to any thing willing to put a ripple in their sails, and its about time we make a company listen to us, the listeners, instead of some bloated airbags whose only motivation to say anything at all is to see their faces on TV.
Thats the end of my ranting for the day.......

and, BTW, if you are just a cheap bastard like me, call XM, threaten to cancel, and they will give you 1-6 months free just to keep you. They tried it with me.

RedRocker, Thank You SIR.
Thats the exact point I have been making. O&A fan, sure... Fan of Censorship? Not at all.. The Gov't already tells me more of what I can and can't watch and listen to.. But I PAY to be offended. I pay to have "totally uncensored radio' as XM puts it in the ads.
It's not just about being a fan, there is a point behind the statement. There have been about 40k subscribers cancel due to this alone, as well as advertisers pulling dollars away from XM for the suspension.
Did I take the free service? No sir, infact I called the next day when my units were NOT shut off and told them to turn them off now. The CRS's were told by XM supervisors to leave them on to keep the sub numbers up for the shareholder meeting on the 25th of May.

As long as they have Howard Stearn on Sirius I would not worry much about any censorship happening there. So far so good.
