Wheel Offset Advantage?

Why does the H3 have such a high wheel offset? What advantage does it give?

I'm guessing it spreads the wheels farther apart and that gives you more stability than a narrower setup.

But wouldn't a shorter offset just mean the center of the wheel is not as wide, not the edge of the tire? The only thing I can see is the pivot point for the wheel changes and the high offset allows for more room for the tire to move. Is this right?

higher offset allows the use of longer halfshafts....wider stance, more track width with less stress than using shorter hlafshafts and negative offset.
