I just got back from vacation last night . We went to Myrtle Beach SC for 4 days and came back with an ocean front condo . while we were there I saw 100 Hummers 41 H3 58 H2s & 1 H1 . But the funny thing was a little kid in the back seat of a Prius was drooling over my Hummer ,his parents saw him and started fussing at him . They said how can you stare at such an ugly gas guzzler when we have beautiful Prius. They had the windows down so I could hear them . We all started dying laughing.

I forgot to mention we stopped by the local Hummer dealer and they had a H3 Alpha X and it was only $45,000 I expected it to be more.

Once again, those are uneducated biased and ignorant people.  It's now known that the prius is more damaging to our environment over time then any Hummer because of the batteries and electrical components that are resistant to corrosion and deteriation as a result of them being retired from service and going to a junkyard to rot, or lack of.

Just wait 15 to 20 years when people start junking them, and all of that is going to come out.  You know what I'm going to do when that happens? I'll launch a anti-hybrid movement and my 20 year old Hummer will still be running (after converted to ethonol).

My mom's boyfriend was a professor (yes) at a college for 20+ years teaching auto-mechanics and engine design, etc.  I had a long discussion with him about Ethanol vehicles.  After talking to him, I can honestly say it made me realize, if you want to help the environment, buy an E85 car, because your Prius is more damaging in the long term then a normal car running E85. He didn't directly tell me this, but it's common sense if you are a treehugger, or a Wanna-be to make a statement.  We have MORE then enough corn we can grow in this country to drive these vehicles.

I'm going to post a separate thread about how E85 demand has changed my community in less then a year.  Interesting stuff.
