Looks good. How does it work?

Yeah, tell us how the guts work! Did you cut off the external vent and port the air to the snorkel?

that would require some considerable plumbing changes to make it fully functional and not more restrictive than the stock intake.  how is it held on to the vehicle, is it still the basic fake air intake cover stock clips?  I can see it blowing off the truck at hiway speeds if it's not bolted on.  personally i see no functional advantage, since if you're in water deep enough to swamp the current intake, you're pretty much going to be looking at bigger problems than just sucking water into the intake.

If I am being completly honest then I think that is the dumbest thing I have ever seen bolted on a Hummer....

sorry...

So, you mean something finally out-did my light bar?

your light bar is #3.... the H1 wagon I saw with the ricer wing is the new #2.... and this is #1....

i initially thought of just being totally honest and blunt, but wanted to at least ask if it was functional in any way, because there's no air sucked in from that fake cover/vent combo as it is.  it could be done with some cutting, but i don't see an advantage.  but, i think you pretty much covered my thoughts as well, so no need for me to pile on . . . . .

Don't worry Safari; it's nothing like this was on my truck

Red rocket - red rocket! (in reference to the snorkel)

Kinda looks like Mr. Fusion from Back to the Future :)

i don't think we're saying anything we didn't say when safari brought up the idea the first time.  it's his truck and his time and money, so if he likes it that's cool.

me, i think it's like putting lipstick on a pig . . . .

I haven't seen a snorkel on a H2 yet but it definately could be worse. Other than the top piece (looks like a chimney) I can see it saving someone in a quick puddle or splashing through a mudhole. I might have 90'd it to the rear with some form of screen on the end or something. Let us know how it works. I know I've done things that weren't the most popular but if you can through a hole and I can't, then yours is better.

My other concern was for the guy behind him when that thing comes off at 80 and goes through their windshield.

Those things pop off pretty easy and having weight attached would give you a significant mechanical advantage to pop them off.  I know first hand one of those plastic covers will break your windsheild also.... especially with 3-5lbs of plastic and metal attached to it.

I think if done right, with the proper equipment, it would look cool as hell.. Functional or not..

Lots of H1 guys have a snorkel set up similiar to that and it works very well. I was curious since the H2 isn't set up to breathe at that location how well it worked. Not sure why the H1 system couldn't be adapted. Anyway I am glad to see someone working on another possible new mod for the H2.

THE GOOD: You guys have got this all wrong.  It's a chimney for that extremely rare fireplace option.

THE BAD: Seriously  I would have to agree with Muddy and Shorty.  And Mike (Hummerguy)  I have to say that it does take a front seat to your light bar becuase at least your light bar was functional.

THE REALITY: And now to be blunt that snorkel just looks ghey.

That's not really reality either.... diesels can easily run underwater for long periods of time...  gas motors can't...  and if the rest of the vents are not vented that high then what's the point..
