I just bought a 2006 H2 loaded with screens in the head rests front screen for reverse cam and GPS w/ DVD player. I'm wondering how I can unlock the front screen to play DVD movies (only the back screens will play the movie). The GM dealership says they can't allow the front screen to play the movies. Is there a way around this?

Legally!? No! But I'm sure they make a PAC module that will take care of it, they do for aftermarket stereos ...

Mine has a switched (added after it was purchased) that overrides it and you can watch the movie on the front screen as well. I don't knwo anything about it....but they do have them!

So the only way to unlock it is by buying that additional piece? I have a Rearview Cam, will this affect trying to get DVDs playing on the screen?

As of NOW, nobody has been able to crack the codes. We have the OEM Nav on our Escalade so I've search ENDLESSLY trying to find a hack!
No idea about the rear camera?? Try contacting the seller on eBay, maybe they will know

Looking at the pic on eBay, looks like you can plug your DVD and Backup Camera into it. I'm assuming it has a built in switch? But again, contact the seller!!

Hey Colin20
I had the opportunity to talk to my guy who has done all of the mods on my H2.
According to him there are bypass modules thay you can get that will tell the vehicle computer that the parking brake and/or that the vehicle in the park position even though it is not. That will allow the system to work in the front.
I must remind you and I know everyone knows this but it is considered illegal to have an active video playing in the front screen of any vehicle while in motion.
My 2 cents on this is I see people doing some of the damnest things while driving and causing accidents that at this point a video playing should not be an issue. ie reading, putting on makeup, chatting on the cell phone, looking for something and then some.

there is a company that makes a piece to add a dvd player to the factory H2 stereo.
