I know people have asked about towing capacity and how towing is with the H3 and I wanted everyone to know that we took our 24' travel trailer (Trail Lite), weighing approx 3500lbs, about 2.5 hours on a trip this past weekend. It was slow to start but once it got going, it towed nicely. Formerly, I had a Dodge Durango and frankly the Hummer tows better/smoother...
Just wanted to say I was happy with the towing capability of the Hummer and pleased it did so well.
Oh, yah, and also as an added bonus, even without towing mirrors, we find we have slightly better visability around our camper (with blind spot mirrors added), than we did with the Durango...
For some fun, we had a lot of rain by the shore which produced flooding...and we took the Hummer down to the shore route and while other people "crawled" around and through massive flooded areas....we SOURED right through them and what an exhilirating rush!!! LOL...
And, believe it or not, we weren't the only H3 who had that idea!!!

Great feedback. With boating season soon to start here in New England, I will be towing a ~3,500 boat around on weekends and am anxiously wondering what that will be like. Sounds like I'll be OK.

Thanks for the info on pulling a 24 trailer with your H3. I have 22 terry lite so I should be OK. Thanks again just the info I was looking for.

This thread is 503 days old, that would be: 1 year, 4 months, 2 weeks and 3days, or 1.3780822 years. History relived? or is it revived?

The kind that should be locked to read only perhaps. Never mind, happy towing

Doc. Doc, Doc....You of all people know that time is relative.
What I'd really like to know from this post was, How many times did it search for the right gear if it was an Automatic and Did it spend more time in 3rd gear than 4th?
