Going in for an oil change and tire rotation tomorrow.  Do most of you guys have your spare rotated in when you have the rotation done?  I never have in the past, but then again I never had the full size spare with matching rim before.  Thanks for any help and personal preferences.

I left my spare a Virgin.  When I burn out these stock 33" Duelers and get new boots, I might be able to sell that virgin for a couple bucks?   Just my thought.

seems us old guys think alike  .  my spare's never touched the ground - when i need new shoes i'll only have to buy 3 and i'll put the best of the used ones on the back as the spare.

Thats the answer I was hoping for.

Shortbus  I like your idea of only having to buy 3 I never thought of it that way.

I guess with age come experience and with experience come knowledge.  Guess I got something to look forward to while getting older.

for a different perspective. . . I'm going to upgrade to larger tires when I get new ones so the spare is in the rotation, with the theory that I should be able to extend tire life a bit if I rotate every 7000 or so miles. If you rotate with the spare remember to reset the TPMS per the instructions in the manual. And rumor has it that some or all of the 08s don't have the TPMS in the spare.

I don't rotate my spares. Also experience is over rated. I would trade a little of my experience for some of the youth and enthusiasm I had when I was younger. Enjoy it will you can.

Why rotate your tires? Primary reason is to provide even wear and extend their useful life. If you are worried enough to rotate your tires, it just seems odd that you guys would not include the spare. I have always rotated the spare in the mix. To not do so, seems more like a case of laziness. When I buy new tires, even if they were the same brand, I still want them all to manufactured within the same time frame.

Happy holidays to you all, and be safe (no matter which rotation pattern you end up using).

Not a lazy bone in my body.     I hate that when 3 of my tires were made 24-30 months after the 4th one?

Being this one of the few vehicles with a "real" spare you can rotate through then I would. I just think if you don't and when you get replacements or upgrade you have wasted your moneys worth.

I already have 35' Mickey Thompson MTZ's I upgraded with less then 1K miles on the truck, so I think the spare will still where it's at.

I don't rotate my spare because the rim doesn't match.....

I agree w/KS Trekker, Plus back in the day I remember rotating my spare like my Dad always did. I think we got spoiled by Donuts. And if your spare doesn't match and I mean in size, you'll be driving down the road with a slight slant, different tread pattern, could pull a little, stress your suspension if you have to go any distance, Looks funny, and you would have to move it to the rear if the flat was in the front, so now you have more work to do when you get the flat on the road, not safe on the highways today.
