What is everybody running front and back, just put on 285/75/16 goodyear wrangler silent armors and was just curious as to what psi everybody is running and how they feel at that pressure.

every tire is different, go by the manufac. markings on the sidewall.

I have those tires. The H3 steering felt like a tank at 35 psi. I increased it slowly in increments and at 42 psi, the steering felt like it did with the OEM Wrangler Rt/s tires. I really like the tires, they ride really well, and are quite.

I was going to put the pressure up to around 39-39 as I have them set at 32 now. Thanks for the info, i will try 40 ish.
By the way (hfuglaar) have you tried the tires off road yet or in the snow. It figures, after i buy the tires the temp goes into the 60's here in NJ. Wish it would snow already.
*****Still looking for suggestions to do some light off-roading/trail riding in or around NJ*****
Just came back from Mobile Al, last week and did some trail riding with the stock wranglers, no problems.
When I got back I had to convince the wife, that the h3 was safer with bigger tires

I run mine at 40+psi.. I often get a "low tire pressure" warning light if they get down to 35. I believe the max tire pressure (for the 285/16) is 65psi.

I too am looking for suggestions as to where there is off-roading in NJ. I've heard that the Pine Barrens/ Wharton Park are decent but haven't been able to get specific info. There is Paragon (sp) in PA which I hear is good. Please let me know if you get any info.

paragon is the best around the NJ area, or just drive to PA and go up a state game land mountain...tons of free wheeling that way. There is one pay to offroad place in NJ thats decent, gotto find it now.

Anyone have what they consider a really nice tire pressure guage those 32...35...40+ psi's? I thought mine was good for the simple task; however, on my tire/wheel combo and with those values (they seem a hair bigger than my other cars), I am finding it somewhat difficult to use my ol' trusty guage. It's analog so maybe it is time to upgrade to digital.

The Pine Barrens is fun IF you like water crossings and mud, lots and lots of mud this time of year. For more of a well rounded challenge I suggest
Paragon or
Rausch Creek Offroad Park, both located near Hazelton, Pennsylvania. You can do serious water and mud if you want, or there are go-arounds, and lots of ruts, rocks, and stumps to keep things interesting without having to take your rig for a swim.
Regarding tire pressure, may I suggest airing those bad boys down to 15-18psi when you hit the trails.
