i see the new post button now, thanks. i thought putting my question in the new member area got the new admin bent out of shape and she took away my posting priviledges. i promise to be good from now on . . . .

Having some problems posting images inside the message. When creating post, I click on the "add image" icon, and it asks for URL, which I insert, and image is loaded and then appears in edit window OK, but neither the preview or the completed post show the image. What am I doing wrong?

Hey Karl, what are you using as your browser?

Depends what I'm on. Believe it or not, I'm a computer system/network adminstrator. So I'm pretty much online all the time. I've tried with IE6 IE7, Firefox, Opera, Blaze on my pda. Must by having a brain spaz, cause I cannot get it. I'll try the photobucket thing, but still not sure why things aren't working for me. They show up in the edit window OK, but disappear when I hit OK to post.

I have no answer for you. I know some people were having trouble with firefox.
I use IE and photobucket. Try photobucket and see if that works.

I've figured it out. The URL I was using when trying to use the hummerforums gallery as the location referenced an ASP script, not an actual file location. When I tried it with actual specific target URL's it works fine. It is strange to me why the incorrect URL to the ASP script would still display the image in the edit window though. My next question for hummbob is, where did he find the specific URl to the sample gallery pic of mine he sample posted for me, ie
http://www.hummerforums.com/upfiles/1527/asppg_Fh799482721.jpg ???? I can extract that from the incorrect URL I was using
http://www.hummerforums.com/albumtn.aspx?size=tn&imgpath=1527-asppg_Fh799482721.jpg but wondered exactly where hummbob copied that link from.
Thanks

I just RIGHT CLICK, Properties, then copy address.

Thanks, the picture you grabbed the URL for from the properties window must have been one that I added as an image on my newbie post, as the properties URL is correct there. If you try the same thing from a gallery photo listing, it inserts the ASP script link as well, making it useless. Thank you HummBob and blackstangs281 for helping, greatly appreciated.
