So I ask the dealer how much they would charge to swap out my stock rims with some custom rims I want to purchase while I wait anxiously for my H3 to be delivered, 5 weeks and counting..their response "Yes, we can switch them out for you, the labor is 3 hours @ $95/hour, which includes reprogramming your sensors."
I know the wheels have tire pressure sensors, but is there really reprogramming involved when swapping out the sensors?
Anyone's advide would surely be appreciated.
Thanks...

i dont know if they can be reprogammed the sensors, but i change my stok rims and tires and since i chnged them the light at the dash hasnt turn off, i took it to the dealer and they said me they have fixed it, yeah they fixed it, but it only lasted like 2 weeks, then it went on again, and it doesnt turn off.

if the sensors aren't put back into the original locations then they will need to be recalibrated, you can do it yourself in 5 minutes....instructons are in the manual.  Never have your dealership do any work outside of warrenty...they are a rip off!!!! Taking stock tires off of stock rims and putting the tires onto new rims should cost you about $20-$30 a rim/tire at any tire place. If you are in NJ I can give you a few places to go that will cost you $80 for everything.

Are you changing tire size also?  If so, the dealer may need to calibrate so your speedo reading won't be off...Maybe that's what they're talking about.  Either way, it sounds a little overpriced.

Dr.Carver,
Nope keeping the tires that come with the Adventure Package, just swapping out to the stock H3 16" wheels with the Simulock ring. I think I have already deduced I am getting overcharged so I will just call some tire places around here and see what they would charge.
Thanks...

amen brother monster!! Biggest POS Gm design team ever drew up.

Dr. Carver, switching tires would have nothing to do with the recalibration of the sensors in order for the speedo/odo to read correctly. This would need to done in the pcm which is a simple 5 minute job.

I have had these reset twice already.  They seem to work for awhile and then the light is light on again.  What gives, do I have to live with this light on my dash or continuesly reset these things.  The dealer said that they were all good but still need to be reset somethimes.  This started when I had them swap out my tires and wheels for an adventure set from another new truck the day I bought it. I would assume they are they same.  Does anyone know??????

Yes I know..I just wasn't sure what the original post was referring to - Especially at that price.  I had no idea that the sensors needed to be recalibrated.

I yanked the stock tires and wheels off, put on a set of 35" BFG MT tires on another set of OEM wheels WITHOUT any sensors..  I haven't seen a light one..

Left the sensors on the original rims and tires..  Will get the ego thing of running the 35's outta my head in a month or so, swap back to the factory stuff and save the MT's for special occasions like CO and Moab..  LOL   Nah..  No I won't..

I swapped out a set of stock wheels with winter tread for my chrome wheels.  The wheels came with the sensors.  I just followed the instructions in the manual...kind of confusing, you know, first you put your right foot in....as long as you follow the sequence it's fine.  Anyway, they haven't given me any trouble and I didn't have to pay the dealer to do it.

Same here importkiller and Crash... installed my new wheels and Toyo OC MT's with no sensors and have only had the light come on 3 times in 6 weeks.  Goes out on it's own and doesn't bother me a bit.
