Hi fellow forum member It has been a month since we purchace our H3. Birch white, sun roof, luxury package, towing package. After two weeks mi wife started to field this vibration and like a knoking coming from the pedals and the driver side of the truck. Finaly took it to the dealer, they replaced something in the middle stering box. The service person tell me that is a desing flow and they are fixit then as they appear. Now my wife is complaining about a higger noise coming from the engine compartment. I dont drive the H3 is her car.
I dont no about you guys but it seens to me like they develop a product with out not to much testin, starting with the Five cilinder engine a vehicule that weights almost 5000 pound is a little underpower. She is a little unhappy about the situation. I hope nothing new develops

I noticed that women expect these type of trucks to have incredible 0-60 times... i don't know why, but everyone of them I met complained about the acceleration and that it's not on par with some other v8 that they had.

Truth be told that this is an off-roading truck, not a grocery getter or a soccer van.  It's not going to be fast, this is what I expected when I bought mine, otherwise I would have bought something in the lines of a sports car or a trail blazer ss.

A lot of cars have problems, to categorize an entire brand because you got a lemmon or one with two bad things (who knows, may have been the same thing coming up twice) isn't right either.  My dads 7-Series BMW had more problems than all the H3 problems that I have seen on this board combined... so does a friends X5.... not to mention countless of Toyota and other import owners.  To brand something as bad based on one experience is incorrect.

EDIT:  On a side note, keep in mind that your wife may have been hard on the truck or ran over things, not accusing her, just saying that sometimes the picture doesn't show everything.

Brandon, have you checked out the thread at the top of the forum? There's a known problem on the H3 with a steering shaft and a new, known fix. Check out http://www.hummerforums.com/m_67824/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm. Towards the end, page 14 or so, you'll see the parts numbers you need to check to see if they were on your last work order. If not, take it into the dealer and ask for this fix.

The H3 is a lux offroad vehicle, it isn't designed for 0-60 times. You can see that even in the H3 Alpha. Sure it has more pickup but it's still not fast, though it is of course faster than the I5. Besides, I'm guessing your H3 had the same power when you test drove it as after you bought it. I did a 24 hour test drive so I knew what I was getting. Good luck.

I can vouch for that...my girlfriend has a lead foot, we just replaced her rear tires after only a year...the front were still good though...women drivers

If you mash the throttle every time you leave a stop, the I5 is gonna make some noise.  It is not a thumper V8, or growling V6, it is a buzzin/hummin I5?  Switch vehicles and Drive the H3 for a couple days??

Thanks for the reply guys. I hope nothing new happens, the person that wash the car when. I pick up the H3 say that they leak water thru the windshield in the driver side. He says that he has seen a few been brought back for repairs. We are paying good money for this cars. I hope they resolve all the troubles.

windshields leak??? Been here for over a yea and a half now and talked to thousands of h3 owners and NEVER heard that....me smells something fishy. I suggest you trade it in on something else you will be happy with....hummer doesnt need another grocery getting, no clue what they are made for owner anyway.

Import killer it looks to me like you are trying to make an ethnic joke.I an only stating what is happening to our truck with less that 1700 miles. I do not go off road. I dint buy the truck to go off road.
My passion is saltwaterfishing in Florida. I drive a Avalanche 1500 to tow my boat. The only reason . I brought this vehicle was because the wife like it.

Brandon07 and importkiller must both be extremely witty because I cant find the ethnic joke.

Brandon, what kind of boat do you have?  Ski boat, sail boat, row boat, or do you have a salt water fishing boat.  It's a bit like buying a ski boat and then complaining that your rods don't fit in it.  It sounds like you bought the wrong vehicle.  I'd suggest the same thing impotkiler did, buy a vehicle that better suits her needs.

Brandon:  importkiller isn't smart nor witty enough  to make a joke, ethnic or otherwise!   Seriously, trade the wife a couple days to check it out and post back what you find, if you think something is wrong with the noise.  There are far more people pounding the pavement with Hummers than doin it in the dirt!!!  You paid for it, do what you want with it, although they are a blast offroad.  BTW I never heard of a windshield leak problem, yet?

PS:  I have done plenty of long line fishing and BBQing the catch in the Keys.  Good stuff, fun and tasty!!!!!

I didn't see any ethnic jokes.  You should let your wife drive a trail blazer ss, then see how long she would want a "slow" hummer :D

I do not like the Trailblazer either. I an waiting for KN to come out with the new CAI for the 2007 H3 to see if will improve the power band.

Brandon;  Nice fishing rig.  That'll get the job done and tackle some rough stuff if some wind kicks up.
Seems like lots of people waiting for K&N to get the 07 CAI , jeeze the 08s are out now.  Email K&N and tell them you are waiting too!!!!

The Trailblazer SS is just a hot station wagon, it's not a truck IMO.  Lots of people like them, but not you and me.

Women don't need to know this... sshhhhhh   All they care about is putting the foot down when they have to cut off the other soccer mom.

Brandon07, check out PCMforless.com, for $150 including shipping, you can't beat that... will give you quite the power increase from what I am hearing.

Okie:  What the heck was I thinkin????  I'll sneek back here in the middle of the night and delete that so nobody is the wiser.

Brandon:  I was a shlep for not suggesting a PCMforless mod to you, that will grow your wife's truck som balls!!!!  Read some of this post   http://www.hummerforums.com/m_79049/tm.htm.  Heck it's cheaper than a K&N CAI anyway, just get a high flow K&N type filter and the PCM and she'll be smiling.
