how about a shoutbox on top of the main page
there is one on the motorcycle forum that i am a member of
its a pretty cool thing to chat w/ members while ya search the forum
just an idea

we had one on a forum I used to admin... problem was everytime you went there there was 25 people shouting... and nobody posting.... drove us nuts...
but yeah... they are cool...
