I just finished installing my mud flaps, and noticed my whole freakin drive shaft is completly RUSTED! I know this cant be normal! She has 550 miles on her-thats it! Anybody got the same problem? There are many bolts I saw rusted also. There are rust spots on the bottom of the rear axle where the jack goes. This is not a good start, to go from a Lexus to a GM. Is this normal for rust already?

Dennis , in the long run will it diminish the integrity of the shaft. As in terms of pieces/layers slowly coming off. I guess it is all surface area affected only. So I guess the dealer wont do anything .

You won't own it that long where the Propeller shaft rusting will become an issue.

holy cow. y'all are making me want to go take pics of the belly of the bus. if a little rust freaks you out, i've got a stephen king version for ya. if i can park it just right, i can show the dings in the drive shaft from moab. of course, that would require effort, and if i wanted to do that, i may as well expend it washing the bus . . . . . .

Normal condition of ANY vehicle with a drive shaft that isn't painted or carbon fiber.
Take a trip to any car dealership and look under a few new cars..

You think GM would have coated this! Sorry I am a little disappointed to see her with rust already. My Nissan Titan did not have any rust like this. Oh well , still love the H3!! Yeah baby!!

if your titan was a 4x4, it has an
Aluminum Driveshaft.. that's why no rust..

$$$$ post drew!
Aluminum shafts may look good an stay all pretty but I wouldn't trust one while I'm grinding the undercarriage on rocks and fallen trees.
