I have a 2002 H2 that is having major rust problems. The side steps have been removed and repainted by the dealer. The chassis is also having rust issues. Anyone else having a similar problem?

I had rust like this all over my rear drivetrain. I had the Dealer do "UnderCoating" and RustProofing" when i bought my Rig so naturally I complained. They said this is NORMAL!!! NORMAL???

I cleaned it all up and sprayed it with Rustoleum. Looks better than it did NEW Only took 1 hour!!

I had rust too. I asked the saleman if they got my rig from a dealer in New Orleans.

I didn't really have any rust issues; however, I thought it might help to have some undercoating applied.

Yep, the kid took his time and was really conscientious about getting everything sprayed. There is a little overspray on the inside of the wheels, but no big deal; I'll clean them up on Saturday. I've never had a vehicle undercoated before, so it was interesting to watch the whole process.

I had to look around to find someone who still undercoated in south Texas; undercoaters were on every corner 20 years ago. I used a spray-on liner distributor for Rhino Linings. Sorry to hear you were disappointed with your dealer's undercoating, hopefully I'll have better luck.

I was looking at your picture and noticed that the pan has no coating on it at all. Did it evaporate? I'd ask the dealer to explain how this could happen.

I just found your member gallery, GREAT looking H2. Also, let us know what your dealer has to say about the undercoating.

I gotta get under mine too. All the salt the put on the roads in the winter here is not a good thing. Don't have much rust yet, but I know I will if I don't do something now
