Geeze,, 695.00 for just the front lights, and that might not include install,,,,,,thats really steep.

Im thinkin it might be a hell of a lot cheaper and even better to just buy front and back marker lights and pay someone thats real good with automotive electrical stuff to do the install for me.

I dont have the balls to go drilling into my H3 ( Ok,, that sounded bad huh ).

I did just get through last night drilling into my hood to install the RealWheels chrome hood part that replaced the plastic one,,, turned out very nice too,, really looks hot on my black H3.

Davyo, if you went to the site I posted on my first post on this thread, you will see that the old model lights cost $430.95 just for the lights and they are the older defective model. If I remember correctly, the $695.00 was for the install too as I was going to buy my H3 with the lights but cancelled due to my Wife didn't want me to buy one with a sunroof. I thought it was a even trade (well sort of). The sunroof was $950.00 but they didn't have another base 2006 model in white without it. I am glad I didn't as I would have had a set of lights that would have been recalled anyway. I guess it worked out in the long run. I do agree with you that the lights are very high priced. I mean, they are only plastic lights and most likely cost Hummer $49.00 for the works with the wiring harness???? They look cool and are somewhat of a Hummer trade mark as all the H2's I see have them. I have a list of stuff I want to do and will have to work on it slowly due to the holidays coming up. The marker lights are one of the first. Then I want a Borla exhaust and a PCM for less after that.

Picking up my new hummer h3 this saturday and wanted the road markers installed and the dealer said they had them instock on monday just got a call and they(service) will not install them due to problems with wind noise they said that the replacments will not be out till jan 2007 so i had it placed on backorder till they come in. Is this what others are hearing seems it would be an easy fix.

Awesome Job Z! That's exactly what I wanted to do, but 1) I couldn't find nice looking (shape-wise) marker lights and 2) no ballz to drill into my H3. Maybe after my first ding/dent, I can overcome my fear. Great idea with the off-road lights set up. Please post some pics once you do it.

I found these at good 'ol JC Whitney:

Running/Clearance Lights

Not quite LED's but they do have white (clear), and they come w/ a chrome base.

If you want lights, go to Grote.com. They all make lights for wierd stuff like semi's and trailers and stuff.

Spunone, where is Cerritos Hummer? My dealer Scott Hummer in Allentown, PA seems to be very up on all the recalls and is very customer friendly. I am going to call them within the week and make an appointment to have a set installed on my H3. The only reason I haven't called them yet is that I just ordered a PCMforless and a CAI intake. Don't want to get too behind in cash right before Christmas!

......for what it is worth, My H3 is currently in production and I expect delivery within the next two weeks; when I spoke to the dealership today they informed me that they still have no additional info on the roof lights. They know that I'm eager to the point of pestering them and assure me that as soon as they are available they will let me know. (This still doesn't have us any closer to knowing if it will be 3 wks or 3 months)

My local deallers partsman said all theirs were quarintened,
after the salesman that sold me my H3 assured me they could install them and not have a problem ,
since they had their own fix.I did a internet search and found a GM letter that a dealer posted (sorry forgot the website),
but it stated that part # P/N 19156080 was the kit need for the marker lights to fix the wind whistle problem.I called the parts guy back at my dealership with the number, 2 hours later he said he's have a set in , in 2 days.I'll be having them installed tomorrow.
Supposively any ordered new sets will have that fix kit included.Seems alot of these partsguys aren't keeping up on there GM MEMOs/Letters.The guy tried to sell me the front and rear seat mudder floor mats for 183.00 + 85.00 for the cargo matt..had to tell him most dealerships are selling them for 99.00 + 59.00 or cheaper. Gotta watch ' em
Good luck , Shawn

Off topic slightly: Sewell, my dealer in Dallas, sells those Rubber Hummer Floor Mats for $129 for the front and back...can't remember the cargo mat price. I told em I found em for $99 online, but they still couldn't come down.

That part number is for the original repair kit of the marker lamps which did not work out. There is suppose to be a permanent fix by the end of this month as described in the last bulletin on this. I work at a cadillac hummer dealer as the shop forman and this is sore subject with a few of my customers. I hope this next fix works as I am taking delivery of a 07 H3 and would like to install these on my truck. Steve

Just got mine installed,
they look great, and no sound problems coming home on highway at 80 mph.
The dealer parts guy said they have a great hummer tech who's had his own fix since the problem showed its self ,
and hasn't had any back in or complaints.Does any one know what those extra hole punch outs on top are for ?
Are they there for extra lights ??
Take care , Shawn

Shawn, I thought those punch outs were where the screws hold it on to the roof?

Hi, any updates on this?
I was hoping to get this for Christmas and install it ourselves (so I'm not going with a dealer.) How can I find what the new part number is?
So they won't be available until January?
I had just seen this: http://www.gmaccessories-direct.com/product_info.php?cPath=27_144_145&products_id=3774 but I guess it is also one of the ones recalled.

I have heard nothing new on this at my dealership. The last I heard there was suppose to be a fix out by the end of this month. I want to install these on my H3 when it gets here but will wait till gm has a permament fix. I will post on this thread if I hear anything new on this. Steve

I talked to gm technical assistance today on the marker lamp issue and there was nothing new on this. I hope it comes out soon as I have a few unhappy customers. Steve

I know some of you have added your own Marker lights and I was wondering what size lights you used for the rear and for the front. Were you happy with the way they look or now that they are installed would you have prefered a different size ? Laslty if you like them do you have a link to where you purchased them?

The marker light fix is almost here. The way it was explained to me is there will be some type of wedge to keep the air from getting under the front edge of the the lamp strip. There will be a new part number for the kits and a part number for the repair kit for lights already on trucks. I can't picture this wedge looking very nice on the truck but will wait till I see it to pass judgement. I would not go running to the dealer yet as this was just told to me on 12/1 through TAC (The fix has not been offically announced). Steve

Just purchased the same lights that "Z" installed on his H3 at Wal-Mart -- $40 for 5 lights...beats $500+ from a dealer or even a wholesaler. Am waiting to hear from him on some wiring tips but shouldn't be too hard. I live on a boat so waterproofing the installation is a no-brainer. If it's as easy as I think it will be, I will do the front amber lights the same way.
