If I go from the stock 33's on the Adventure Pkg to 35's, how will this affect the all-wheel/4 wheel drive, speedometer, etc (if at all)?

According to the tire calculator I use going from 33" to 35" tires you be going 5% faster than the speedo shows and 7% from the stock 32"tires to 35" tires. Steve

I thought the same thing but i test mine on radar and those street signs telling you how fast your going my speedo read the same as those.
Then i tested it with another car to see if the sign where right.

why would you be going faster the bigger the tire you should be going slower.

Hmmm, I think that I'll respectfully disagree with this; the larger the tire (greater diameter), the more ground that will be covered by one rotation of the axle. If you have two same sized rims that are spinning at the same rpm, one is a 33" and the other is a 35", the 35 will be covering more ground. Hence, faster. (I'm not trying to patronize here)

I think you guys are talking about the same thing.
The speedometer will report slower than the vehicle is moving.
The vehicle will be moving faster than the speedometer is reporting.

On the other hand,
What exactly is the speed of DARK?
Sorry, for the little humor there

according to my gps, my speedo is off by 7 mph with the 35's, but I also went from 32's to 35's, I'd say you would be off around 5 mph.....BUT...this is the all time best method of getting out of 10 mph over the limit speeding tickets...officer I just put the tires on, my speedo said I was going 4 mph over the limt...not 15!!! I have gotten out of 5 tickets so far with my lifted trucks using this line
BTW, I was talking to a guy with an h3 the other night he had 35's, 3 turns on the t-bar and has put on close to 30,000 miles with it like this. He has had NO problems at all with anything.

Just a thought..But if you get your PCM tuned by Alvin (PCM for less) I think they can program the size of tires you're using to callibrate the speedo for you...

Mike just a thought on your piss poor mileage..Since you are going 2% to 3% more on the 35" tires your mileage will reflect the difference as well..next time subtract 3% from the miles registered on the ODO and then do your milage calc...What peeps don't understand that, GM advertizes the 20MPG on the 32" tire under ideal driving conditions.

I think I'd need to add about 18% to get me from 8.5 to the 16 mpg range

Importkiller, it looks like I'm going to go with 315/75/16 Mickey Thompson MTZ'S. Can you tell me about road noise and your MPG'S ( LOSS OF ) .Thanks!

BuMp, as I would like to see an answer to this as well. Is that the size you have importkiller? 315/75/16's ?
I like the look of those and I hear the performance is awesome. Im curious if they rub on tight turns and if you had to level your Hummer to fit those.
Agree with H3X442. I comparred my speedo to the GPS nav and I was a few miles off with the tire increase.
For clarity, the H3 is actually going a bit faster than reported on the speedo. Good to know for argueing speeding tickets!
