that reminds me, I saw a beautiful 1992 H1, for sale for 8900, the owner said they were under bad circumstances and just needed to get rid of it. if only I was in buying position!! although with bank repos etc. I may find a good deal on another Hummer (1, 2, 3 are all good for me) come my buying time. keep your eyes peeled, it should be on ebay soon and now its on cars.com under AM General. Also, i bet a year from now H2s will be cheaper than H3s BUT if I cant find one on my low budget ( maybe a repo) Ill probably start out like most of the people here with a lifted Jeep or just huge truck and save the wheeling for the ATV for now BUT im not givving up till im behind the wheel of an H1.

oh, and by beautiful 1992 I mean i like it but is got 76,000 miles! some issues are bound to be run into but for me it would just be a fun thing to repair (except for the huge parts cost) I once heard hear, "if your living paycheck to paycheck the H1 is not for you" itll have to wait but whatever I end up with itll end up caked in mud strattled over a pile of rocks.

sorry for the wall of text, my fingers hurt...

If that is the one that was on Craig's list it is a scam. They took it off of Craig's list.

The description of the vehicle is nowhere close to accurate. What did they tell you Zach?

I said:

i have a question or two about the hummer for sale on cars.com, it seems to be very cheap at only $8,900. you say it is good int. ext. and mechanically. I just cant figure out why this thing is so cheap. does it need a new engine or something? sorry if I waste your time because i am not planning on any purchase, but ive just been curious as to why this thing is so cheap??

thank you and have a nice day
 She responded:
I’m selling the truck for some circumstances in my life. The truck is working quite good.
It doesn’t need an new engine or enithing else.
I will sell the truck only trough eBay because I have the shipping paid.

If you agree the price is $8900 with shipping included.
I will need your full name and address.

I look forward to hear from you.

Ebay doesn't provide free shipping. It is an 8000# truck. Shipping to anywhere would be $1200.00 and could be a lot more. If you want to play with the scammer write her back and say that for that price you might would buy it. Get her to post pictures of the rear window wiper, sunroof and alloy wheels. ( all things it doesn't have )

So if you were going to rent a limo for prom or a wedding or something important, you'd be in the plain jane stretched escalade that might as well be a production vehicle with the amount of them you see everywhere? Not me - I'd be first in line to hop in that big ol' hummer. I'd have no issues with driving that thing around from time to time, either. Fact is, there are not very many people that are motivated enough to take on a project like that. Not enough of them to make a dent in your h1 market. They will always be expensive, and hard to find, regardless of whether or not there are a few people out there willing to put that much money/effort into making the one they own what they want. And if you end up buying one that is a great truck and happens to have 28's on it, you'll be better off anyways - sell them and you'll have money for a body lift and some nice meaty 42's...

maybe I just like the H1 too much, its just the thought of all of those heavy duty parts and offroading tech. that will never be used. Oh and if I was going to something important Id go in a stretched F-series! those things look cool and the non-limo f-series are very commmon and the ones stretched wont be missed, I dont live in california so any limo thats not a stretched deville (or whatever it is) is pretty uncommon

A stretch lincoln or caddy are the limos of choice for me.
