I had mentioned in another thread that the show was a bit dissapointing to me.

Hummer's display was no different than the other luxury cars being shown. They did nothing like Jeep did to show off the line.
Jeep had a track set up outside and was giving folks rides. The track had a steep approach climb, steep departure angle, break over angles. etc. Looked like it was a real hit with the length of the line. Too long though to wait on.

I was  able to see the new H3 Alpha too.
Unfortunately it was locked, and no one was able to get inside or look under the hood!

It was sporting a new color to replace the Slate Blue Metalic, for 2008. It was called Graphite. I will list pics below so you can see. I guess my '06 H3/ Slate Blue is going to be a collectors model.

In this pic, notice how the lower grill has been changed. I don't like it.

The ALPHA, logo is on the rear right side of the gate. This the only one on the truck. The regular H3's are still located on the hinge side of the doors.

I guess GM's pockets arent too deep these days when it comes to thier auto show budget. The display in Dallas
was nothing special either. However, I would have expected them to do it up right for NY. Maybe I am a bit
jaded....the last Hummer display I remember, was loaded with H1's and H2's ramped up to all sorts
of crazy angles, just looking meaner than all hell.....But that was a few years ago.

Could it simply  be that our expectations are to high?

Maybe "Like No Other" doesnt pertain to their marketing---

I agree with you on that lower front grill. It looks like a damn milk crate from 7-11. Not sure about that bumper
either. But it does provide more potential contact area for possible collisions.

Man I hate bagging on a brand that I dearly love..........

Don't care for the lower grill either, but maybe it is that way for better air flow?

Looks just like the gauge cluster on my '06 H2.

Hell, I thought it was something new.....Bastards @ HMR had that stuck in with the H3 pics......Like it was the Alpha cluster.

The biggest dissapointment with Hummer, at the show was that...
1) There was only one H3 Alpha. AND IT WAS LOCKED!!!

2) The entire display looked no different from Saab, or Ford, or Toyota.

That is a big tease and a disappointment, but thanks for posting the pics and keeping us informed.

Not much change at all.

The graphite color doesn't look much different than the slate blue from the pics.  How did it look in person?

Compared to the Slate Blue Metalic, the Graphite is a little more flat. Not as much metalic in the paint. It is still hard coat enamel finished, but I still like the Slate Blue.
