Am I the only one that thinks Hummer F'd up by not putting hooks in the back for drycleaning and coats, or maybe I need to start asking the GF to pick it up for me.

I bought an expandable clothes rod that goes from side to side in the rear.  It's a real nice one.  I just leave it there after I got back from vacation.

Man, that is so funny..................

Here I thought it was just me...........Hence my reluctance to mention it......and catch the inevitable / resulting flak ! ! !

"I blew a valve and or head"
"My rear locker shelled out"
"My tranny caught on fire"
"I broke a tie rod / half shaft"

Uh.....My truck doesn't have any clothes hooks......Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ! ! !

That was one of the first things I missed when I bought this truck and it's a personal pet peeve.
I wear a lot of suits and business casual crap so I usually have dry cleaning out the wazoo.
Hate having to lay all my **** flat in the back.

Short of machine screwing a rod across the back cargo area, I haven't come up with a solution.

Man, I just can't stop laughing about this.......

I dunno, never picked up drycleaning.  Coats.............in Michigan, if its winter, it is so damn cold out we are wearing them, not hangen em up!!!!!!!!!  Gunner, I am with ya, had me going too.

RefiGuy you are on the right track with the MODS!  Get it going man.

The clothing rod has hooks on it. You place the hooks over the rear hand grips.  Simple solution guys.

......and when it's not holding clothes, it can double as a grab bar for the rear passengers!!

Never saw one with hooks, sounds easy enough.  I'm thinking yours is chrome D Vader,............wait, do they make black ones?

Well for the past six months, I have just laid the stuff down in the cargo area.. but now I am going to look into the rod. When it is not being used I will put it in the cargo area from the floor to the roof, get some strobes and run a "little person" pole dancing competition...

It's the little things we miss....  I had a truck without cup holders.... and that sucked.

Yeah, this is something I've thought about but never wanted to mention...  I've seen some vehicles with the coat hook being just a cheap piece of plastic that wraps around the rear grab handle.  Even that would be fine for me.  Can't find one aftermarket, though, and I don't miss it enough to put a whole rod across the back.

I can hang my "drycleaning" on the rear seat grab handles (8 shirts) with no problem.

Dry cleaning isn't the issue for me.  I wear suits a lot and have to hang up the jacket in the back.  The only way to do it is to bring a hanger - which I usually leave in the car, but if I forget to take it off the handle, it clangs against the window on days when I'm not wearing a jacket.  Like I said, not really a big deal for me, but it could probably be solved with a 49 cent part and I don't know why you'd leave something like that out for that cost when EVERY other car with a back seat and fixed roof has one.

I think you just stumbled on the answer.  Hmmers are "Like nothing else!".  Every other car has them, so Hummers don't!

I drape my suit jacket nicely over the back of the driver or passenger seat...works fine for me.

It doesn't have to be suits.  When I travel I like to keep my polos and jeans wrinkle free vs folded up in a suitcase.

I you use wire hangers just twist the head and hang them from the assist handles.  How hard it that?

Actually it is chrome with a perforated black sleeve to stop the hangers from sliding.  Classy looking pole.
