Hey guys (and gals)!!
I am a newly registered member, whoo hoo, and have a H1 question.
I am totally addicted to Hummers. Its more than just a passion. Its like a drug or a disease! I am actively searching for my H1, and I am using this site as part of my research (and of course to talk with other Hummer Fanatics!) I wanted to know where some of you guys purchased your Hummers. The dealers inventories are pretty scarce, for H1's.

And also, do you guys do the repair work yourselves or take to the dealer? How expensive are some of the "normal" repairs?
Thats it, thanks for putting up with the new guys!

I bought my truck at Lynch Hummer in MO, and had it delivered to NH:
http://www.serious4x4.com/generalinfo.html I try to do the majority of the repairs and modifications myself, but I have other repairs or work done at a local diesel truck shop, or at my local dealership in MA...
The truck is relatively easy to work on, and some parts can be found through cross-referencing -- parts bought through the dealership and hourly rates for repairs done by the dealership are similar in cost to that of a Land Rover.

NuCar Hummer in New Castle, DE has a few H1's (used) on the lot... with an airport right across the street...
I bought my H2 there.... they are a respectable dealership in my opinion...

I bought my truck at The Hummer Experience aka The Car Experience aka Americas Luxory Imports....
I do not recomend that dealer at all... first i seen it in the auto trader and contacted him also seen it on ebay as well... I ended up driving about 3 hours to test drive it and see it... the deposit requested over the phone and on the ebay site both said $500.00 CDN once i got there he said that since it was up on ebay he wanted $5000.00 deposit in order for him to take down the ebay ad and save it for me. I did so then after a day or two i still noticed it was still on ebay I contacted him and he told me that he couldnt take it down blah blah blah but if the 2 highest bidders did not come through its mine.. Since I was a young guy at the time he thought he could do that kind of stuff to me but I insured him I know my rights and that a deposit on a vehicle is a contract and he must fulfill his end or suffer the courts... sure enough the ebay listing came down and I got my ride but after getting it I was suppose to get all new tires he replaced the 2 front tires for me(one was mounted backwards) then said I would have to wait till the rears come in also he was suppose to replace my passenger mirror on mine since the mirror fell out as soon as i left the lot with it... I didnt even make it on the highway yet...well after a week I of not having these items I didnt mind... then it became a month then 6 months I finally got my new tires in Dec 2006(when I bought the ride in May 2006) but it wasnt soon enough I already got a ticket for "Improper Tires" and as for the mirrior its almost been a full year and I am still waiting....
As for repairs to it I purchased the service manual from bluehummer also purchased the official maintenance manual and do some of the really easy stuff myself a bit harder stuff I got a friend that owns a shop and has a copy of the manuals and he does that and for the really hard stuff we got a guy in Collingwood Ontario about 2.5 hours from where I live that only works on H1's and pretty good price as well...

Well for me it is just changing out the light bulbs/clearence lights and also changing out the flashers and recently did the turn signal switch on mine also replaced the windshield fluid hoses and thats about it so far... but when i got my starter rebuilt and new alternator i sent it into my friend with the shop but awhile ago I had a problem with stalling and not being able to start up untill it was cold or either hot not inbetween and that I took it into the hummer dealership and it turned out to be the fuel pump and injection pump...
So yea basically anything you dont have to troubleshoot I either do it or take it to my friends shop... if the problem needs to be troubleshooted then I'd suggest taking it into the dealer.
