Hi folks!
We just got back from the dealer an hour ago and put a deposit on an adventure model! Extremely excited!! Hopefully we can pick it up on sat as we wanted several accessories (roof rack, light bar etc) that they had to put on. Will post pics when I finally get it!!
I have a question about the trailering convenience package, the adventure model we chose does come with a trailer hitch (i.e. has "trailering equipment" option). In my haste, I sealed the deal accidentlly omitting the "trailering convenience package" accessory. So I figured that perhaps I'll ask you experts about this.
Could this package be easily installed later on (self install, no major work like bumper cutting etc.)? I consider myself a terrible mechanic so I doubt I can do too much save for oil changes. If I wanted to install a rear hitch camera or a rear hitch sensor, is this "trailering convenience package" a must-have? I also saw on some websites that this package includes a "hitch extension, front" and a 12-volt power outlet. Where is this front hitch extension (wouldn't it like conflict with the skid plate?)? Also, is this necessary if I decided to put a front winch eventually? Also, where is the extra 12-volt power outlet? Would it be at the hit power supply itself (next to the square hitch)?
Sorry I have so many questions but I guess I'm really excited and would rather get it right first time! I would be pretty disappointed if in the future I needed this package and it was hard to put on.
I was thinking of getting the dealer to add it on, but having already agreed the price, I'm a little hesistant to try to change the numbers now....
Thanks guys, and can't wait!!!!

Ours came with the trailer package, and I don't think it's a big deal to add after the fact. I think it just plugs into the existing harness.
I might try going back to the dealer and seeing if they will work out a special deal for you, maybe just pay a lttle out of pocket. Let them know it will make the difference between being content, or happy!

Yea I'd rather spend the extra buck than to have that in the back of your mind constantly you know? And if something goes wrong you can hold them responsible.

It's better to spend the $299 to have the dealer do it.
You need to cut the bumper.

Thanks guys!
I'm going to talk to the dealer to see what the options are and whether it'll complicate matters as well. Thanks for all the information... Can't wait!!!!!
