On March 30, the Illiana Hummer Club will be hosting it's first off-roading event of the season. The event is scheduled to run from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and is sure to provide a great time. We all know that you've been sitting around this winter with the itch to go wheeling, well now is your chance... All are welcome, regardless of experience and the truck you drive. We welcome anyone and everyone with a passion for the awesome machine that you drive and a curiosity of what your vehicle is capable of. The trails will also be Hummer friendly as a few of us will be going on the 17th to re-groom the trails we'll be on. I hope to see a few new faces!

More info will follow soon...any takers?

Here is a picture of the property, as you can see, there is something for everyone, trails, sand, mud, water, and rock crawling.

I THINK I'll be caravanning up there with Mike, but I don't know if I'm going to actually go off-roading.  I'll probably ride along in his truck.  My wife's only day off of work is on Sunday so you can imagine it's going to be a little difficult.  I've already talked to him about it.  There are a few members on here who don't post that want to go.

FYI, we MIGHT be getting our own IHC thread/channel on this forum, but we are still talking about that.

Sounds great, it'll be nice to see some new faces. An IHC forum would be awesome!

Just got an H3 Alpha a month ago.  I would love to take it offroad.  Not a club member.... Yet....  I'll half to check calender.

Quick question....  My dad has a Jeep Wrangler and might be interested.  Will this be a Jeep friendly event?

Quag, you and your father are both welcome to join the event. We've wheeled with Jeeps in the past before so I don't think that would be a problem, I'm sure the other guys would feel the same. As for yourself, being a club member is not a requirement, you would fall under the potential club member category I suppose lol. Congrats on your purchase and keep your eyes open in the next week or so for the official announcement with times and everything. Where are you located?

Chicago Noth Side....  Dad and the Jeep can't go, so It'll be me and maybe one of my buds riding shotgun.

I'm not sure if I'm in or out yet.  Sunday is the only day I have to spend with my wife and I'm still working on convincing her we should go. We've been a little burned out lately and I have to work on Saturday, so it's going to be a little tight.

The weekends weather for Attica is 60% chance of rain for Sunday.  Never been there.  How bad would this make the trails?

Well, for somebody that hasn't off-roaded before, it may be a little tricky.  I've only gone in dry weather.  I'll see if HummerMike can hop on here and answer some questions.  He's the president of the club.  I'm still not sure if I'm going until tomorrow.

Don't think I'm going to make it on Sunday due to the chance rain.  Look forward to checking it out next time.

Wonder why they postponed it?

Was it postponed? Mike never sent an email out about it.  We didn't go because I don't have mud tires and there was a 60% chance of T-storms in that area.  The last time we went it was dry and sunny.  I could use stocks with no problem.

We went for the trail cleaning as scheduled, which consisted of getting my h2 sideways down a muddy hill and about 2 inches away from wrapping it around a tree. (Def. getting offroad tires for that soon lol) The reason it was postponed is because we didn't get a reminder email to our members in time so we decided to put it off until next month. I'll get a date out to you all as soon as I can.

I emailed Mike today.  He said the calendar date for this is now Sunday, May 25th, UNLESS the March of Dimes event this month doesn't happen, in which case it will be April 27th.  Since there is a possibility of this changing until the 27th is past, we'll keep this in Postponed status for now, until the 27th has come and gone.

This has been rescheduled for Sunday, May 25th. This is an official Illiana Hummer Club event, but anybody is welcome to join. I am 50/50 going to be there, but since I'm going the following weekend with the out-of-towners, I may not be able to go to this one. I'm not sure yet.

HEY, I can make this one! It's a week BEFORE the graduation. Is that ok?

Of course, but I may not be here That's alot of driving for two weekends in a row, especially gas prices being what they are. I will try though. These guys are good guys so you'll have fun. Although, there IS a chance this date may change again

Already going to this one. I really wanted to go to the one with the rest of the gang in PA, but some, what I'll call "logistical" issues started arising and it just wasn't worth it anymore
