Hey you asked, what else you could you do besides using Astro-glide or WD40 and without tugging (is that a close enough quote?)...Seems to me the only thing left easy was to cut them out...Besides, Jacking it up is only half the battle...you didn't ask how to jack it up

so..... do you have to cut the bumper for the exhaust tips? or is that indent there? i cant remember seeing it..
