I am new to the forum and just got my h3 in july i have been doing alot of minor changes to make it different from all the other h3s out there, well i just bought a pre- runner light bar from one of the members here and i shall be getting his light bar for the roof soon also i was just wondering what kind of lights i should go with and has anyone tried using the light switches that gm offers for thier off road lights, i need to know if they can be used and does any one have the part number for them

You talking about these guys: Hummer
H3 Off Road Lamps
Switch 88963884
Connector 12101864
"The switches for the off-road lamps are located in the center of the instrument panel below climate controls.
One switch is used for the front lower-grille mounted off-road lamps, if equipped, and the other switch is used
for the roof-mounted off-road lamps, if equipped."
The switch is actually 2 pieces. The switch and a connector (pigtail harness).
The switch comes with no documentation, but if you look close on the back of the switch you will see
the markings A, B, and C for the respective pins.
A: GND
B: Accessory
C:+ 12v
Note: I see A and C swapped in quite a few posts across several forums.......Installer beware.....
This is a quote from Gunner45 in this thread. OEM FACTORY LIGHT SWITCH ; and have a look at these too: RE: Aux Switches

I posted this on HJ's light bar thread initially, but thought it pertinent enough to post here as well....
(Just something to consider when planning your lighting set-up.......Gunner_45)

Does anyone know what the alternator for the H3 is rated at?
Also, does this equation fly for calculating amp draw for lights?
Light wattage / Voltage = Amps
So...in my case, if I wanted 4 KC's on the roof and 2 on the bumper:
130w / 12v = 10.8 amps
6 (lights) X 10.8 amps = 64.8 amp load on the system with all lights working.
For me, on my last project truck, that was the ideal setup. However, I ended
up putting a hi-output alternator and dual 900cca batteries on the truck with
an isolator......That was a huge draw on the stock 90 amp alternator....hence the mods.
Just some food for thought.....
Comments, corrections, suggestions.....?????
