Hey all
I'm looking at used H3's and wanted your opnions on what to look for and/or what to look out for. I have read about the head/valve guide thing and I also read about a possible issue with the steering shaft.
Are there any certain things to look for that might tend to be problem areas besides those? What sort of things should I be checking when I look at an H3?
Thanks a bunch for any input!

..are factory warranties transferable??
and just in defense of 06's...once the head problem was fixed, it was fixed, no permanent damage. And on the bright side...in my case after 10k miles I had the head problem, so after 10K I got half my engine replaced...less wear

thats good mfish
all they did to our 06 was reworked the head
i still say 07 for the 100k warranty and the little extra power
yeah i think factory warranty is covered for the 100k no matter how many times it is resold

if buying an 06 check to see if the DRL's (daytime rnning lights) are the headlights or the amber corner lights. If the amber corner lights then you know it was a very early model 06 and will be in the possible head issue range. Also check the head issue thread to see what the vin# range is for the head issue. That is good knowledge to know. Check for cracks in the plastic roof rail things....or you can just buy mine

Look at the nerf bars/side steps if equipped. Look underside for scratches and dents. Make sure the supports come out at 90 degrees from the frame. This will help tell you if the vehicle has been offroaded. And if you want a set of nerf bars with an offroad scratch and dent, you can just buy mine.

Thanks guys, this is all excellent info!
Thanks for the offer importkiller but being as nice as your H3 is, I'm sure I couldn't afford it!
