They use a lot better one theses day and the best bet is to have it welded

Agreed on the welding..The clamps are a little old fashioned I'll admit too..But the pipes fit together so well, that all that's needed is a little crimp from a clamp of any sort and they'll hold like they are welded..Trust me I know, because mine has the same old clamps and I wanted to make an adjustment after I'd sinched them up..Well forget about..I could not move the pipes a part a MM..So I can vouche for them..But they are cheaper than the band clamps and they do rust, so I painted mine with Hi-temp silver Rust-oleum..Works good, lasts along time.

When i had mine put on i had it welded i have the SMA system it differant then that one
