We just bought 2 new beach cruisers, and a
Yakima Hook Up bike rack. Of course with the spare tire being mounted outside (35 x 12.5 x 18), we need a hitch extension.
When I put together the bike rack, it states "Do not use hitch extension".......
What is up with that ? Just a CYA by Yakima ???
I can't imagine 2 bikes on a bike rack would cause any issues ??? I know about leverage but c'mon....
Anyone ave experience with hitch extensions ?
Thanks in advance !!!!

I ordered an 8 inch extension for mine off of amazon.com With shipping it came to about $38.
The extension get's me pas the spare tire issue, but the bike rack (Allen) still hits the back door.
Back to the drawing board I guess.
I don't have any welding experience, but I am sure some guys in this forum do and could probably make a pretty penny welding up some extensions for H3s.

We Put a 18 Inch extention on the back of our H2, for hauling our boat, Bike Rack, it enables you to swing the tire out of the way and open the Hatch......$50.00+ Shipping
The Extention was bought at:
www.northerntool.com We bought the Adjustable Bike Rack at our Local Bike Dealer, they had several kinds for every Truck on the market.......
The Bike rack sticks out far enough to open the door......we removed, the iner rack and only put our bikes on the outer rack, I put reflectors on the Bar so anyone knows its there....
Have a Great day............Rick
