My husband bought me a new H3, it looks fab but I'm having so much trouble with various technical faults Ive had the car since november 2006 and it's had a new reversing light, a new solenoid selector for the 4wd and stab sys, the exhaust had to be modified to stop it hitting the body and now it has a missfire and has been in GMotors for the past two weeks and still is not fixed. New spark plugs etc. Has anyone had the same problems or was mine built on a friday evening before the shift ended.
Sounds like you may be a candidate for the infamous head problem ... does it idle rough as well!?
There are quite a few posts regarding this particular subject, check them out.

Yes it started with a rough idle and just got worse. Thanks for lettin me know about this problem I didn't know there was such major problem. I will check out other posts.
There are quite a few members on here who have had this problem ... I'm in an H2 myself so I obviously don't have any experience with it first hand ... Above and beyond the rough idle and misfire there should be some tell tale codes being triggered as well. Your service guy should be able to tell ... If I recall correctly one was I THINK 0990 or close to it. Would anyone like to chime in here and set me straight on the codes??

The code that came up indicated a problem with one of the spark plugs. It has had all 5 replaced and it still has a problem. Looks like I'm in for a long wait for my motor to be fixed. I sometimes wish I would have got a Nissan! I will look up any info I can. Thanks for all your help and advice.

Go down to Fleet Landing next time the Navy is in port..I'm sure one or two of the sailors will help you out..J/K
But seriously, I feel deeply in Love with Palma when I was there..I even attended a service at the Cathedral...Praying to God that he take away the horrible Rum and Coke hangover I was suffering.

Oh very funny... Maybe I should have stuck with my 993 porsche instead but I wanted to go back to a truck. Yes the N?**an would have been more reliable. And I don't think the tech guy knows what he is talkin about he keeps phonin the main dealer in Madrid to find out what to do.. not much hope there then.

Dennis, Maybe I will check out the navy option as they would probably be more help that my GM dealer and I don't get hangovers so no need to visit the cathedral either.

More depndable.....maybe...maybe not. I replaced a motor twice on a 2001 Nissan Frontier crew cab, both times an oil pump went and all six cylinders got scored pretty bad. Just cause it's made in jap land don't automatically make it more reliable. EVERY CAR MADE BREAKS DOWN!!!! If you honestly feel that the nissan is more reliable then by all means please buy one and leave the POS hummers to those of us that can appreciate a VASTLY SUPERIOR vehicle.
that is all.

No I don't want a nissan but I would like a reliable hummer. I thought they were pretty tough!

With the right service guys, your hummer will be made reliable. Just look around, most people here think their rigs are reliable. People having problems tend to be more vocal about it though. Good Luck!
