Sorry guys, I searched past threads and couldn't find the answer, so at the risk of repeating a previous post that I can't find I'll ask...

I have a 2007 H3 with a factory one slot CD player radio. I'm in Qatar so don't have XM or anything like that. I wanted to plug in my iPod and follwed the forums advice and bought a Nuecleus NC-X2i and NC-GM31T.

I even managed to get the chrome centre cover off to get the radio out. And all by myself I plugged the socket into the back of the radio!!

Now, where the F do I plug the other 12 pin connecter??? I don't have XM or anything like that. I have taken off the glove box to see if there is a reciever or anything there, but there isn't!!

Help!!!!

After taking the glove box to bits, much to the amusement of the locals - and umpteen swear words later I think I've solved it. There were two wires hanging down at the back of the steering column labled AUX B+ and GROUND. Both had electrical tape round the ends so I assumed that would be connected to the XM sysytem if I had one. Anyway I spliced both cables into the flying ends of the Nucleus cable loom and WOO HOO my iPod works and is controlled from the radio!

Sorry to be so "British" about this.....!!!

Cheers guys....

Right, now comes the problems. Just been into town in the Hummer with my iPod plugged in. I'm getting loads of whistle from it like i'm using an FM modulator and I'm getting loads of alternator whistle behind the main whistle.....

Now either I have not wired it corrctly or something is wrong somewhere... any ideas??

You may have to speak UP A BIT AS THE WHISLTE HAS MADE ME A BIT DEAF!!!!!

I find personally that the whistle is always a poor ground.... although I do remember reading that somebody had alternator issues.  That might be something you can search for on here.

I think alternator whine is something we may have to live with, with these adapters. I just got the USA Spec GM-DF adaptor for the H3. It completely ties in with the stock harness so there can't be any grounding issues. At any rate, I don't get any alternator whine in the MP3 player, but I do get it in my XM. I dunno what the deal is.
