I disappeared from the forum for awhile. I did a major life change and had to get my ducks all back in a row so to speak. Left my guy.... he was ripping me off and not being very nice, and along with a very violent temper it called for me to do something. I bought a house and moved out... just put up a new house for Humzilla. It's taken alot of time, especially since I've had to do it all myself, but I'm making progress. I've been completely remodeling this house. It's really beautiful inside, all original wood floors, window & door casings, but the house was empty for 12 years so it needs alot of TLC. The outside needs painted really bad, but that has to wait. I've been tossing around the idea of not painting it, as it would send my taxes thru the roof. This area of NY State has the worst taxes... And any little thing you do to it makes them jack it up even more. I had thought to just do the inside for now, and if I ever sell it then I'll do the outside. The taxes here are insane. Had to put in a new heating system, completely re-wire the entire house... so I haven't had time to be online much. But now that I've made enough progress to take a breather, I figured I'd come back and say HI and see what's been going on. It's nice to see everyone's still here. I see there's some new ones too. I'm looking forward to being able to visit regularly again

In NY you might have taxes, but in MI we basically have recession and a declining real estate market. THE worst I have ever seen.
So you foreign car jockies, just keep buying that chit and everybody in motor city will just move in with ya.

Welcome back. Sounds like you have been a busy lady. Also sounds like you did the tough but right thing for yourself. Kudos to you. Those decisions are never easy to make. Sounds like you are headed in the right direction and look forward to your posts.

My wife STILL hasn't driven our H3 yet, but maybe if we get this new one with Auto, she'll take a shot at it. I told her about you way back when, and she used that as an excuse to try to upgrade to a H2, by saying "well if she can drive it then I can"

Our real estate is declining as well, and alot of that is attributed to the taxes. Also it is a small village and there isn't much industry here to being with, at least not right in town. Most folks have to drive 20-30 miles a day if not more to have a decent paying job. Cities like Albany or Utica have more industry, but our little village only has a couple factories and one may not be around much longer. It is mostly agricultural here, lots of dairy farms. So many people are having to sell, and no one's buying.... But I love it here and can't see living anywhere else

Thanks. It was a hard decision, but it was the right one. I'm learning alot about myself too in the process. I have been very very busy! The entire house needs painted on the inside, it's been empty 12 years and the walls are plaster so they needed some attention here and there. The walls really absorbed the first coat of paint... gonna hafta put at least 2 more coats on. But I've patched all the holes, sanded until my arm nearly fell off, and the dining room is finally looking like a dining room :)

I didn't mean to stay away so long, but it was crazy when I was moving... and this house was FULL of junk which I had to get out before I could move in, and getting everything fixed and put away took most of my time for awhile....I've been reading all the posts and trying to catch up with everything

I wouldn't say he was a punk, but he just wasn't always so nice and he liked to take advantage.... And I didn't like walking on eggshells because I never knew what was going to piss him off.....
