No, those Mickey's are staying on the truck.  I did a few things wrong in this case ...

#1, I underestimated the hill and it's slickness
#2, I did not drop down in to 4L locked/locked rear end like I should have.... I was in 4H locked when I hit that hill ..
#3, I didn't get the wheel spin I needed due to above mentioned wrong 4x4 setting, thus not cleaning the thread out enough to get some bit back in to em.  Traction was killing me off and once I started sliding there was nothing I could do ... I stood on the brakes, I gave it as much gas as I could trying to chew through it and get my azz end away from the tree but kept on slippin' no matter what I did!
I think the mud pit I came out of had a lot to do with this as well .. the threads were entirely too clogged up when I hit that hill .. *stupid* and like I said, not enough wheel spin, TC ... again *stupid*

All in all I'm chalking this experience up as a learning event with a price tag attached to it.  I can't say I'm pleased with the dent in my truck but in all honesty, it really doesn't botter me much either.  Had it been a grocery store parking lot kind of dent I would've been furious .. but this is a battle scar and I can live with that ... I did of course get some pretty good custom pin striping done to it as well but I've come to accept that as a part of getting out in the woods and having fun ... I'll get the detail guys I go to take care of that for me.  I have a couple of good gashes after Saturday but they only charged me $15 bucks to fill them in (couple of bad ones) the last time I had them do the truck over for me.  If not I'm sure my dealer can hook me up when I take it in later in the week for oil .. .

As far as the tires goes I don't think they are to blame here ..... more driver error than anything else ... I'll continue to swear by the BAJA MTZ' .. they've done me well so far.  Like I told the Mickey Thompson rep when they called me (follow up on a survey I took), I won't be putting another tire on my Hummer as long as these are available.

LOL!!!!!  I should at least own up to my mistakes instead of takin' the chicken sh!t way out and blame the tires ... :)

You have no idea how hard it was for me to break my old Detroit locker, 4 on the floor and "kick it to shift it into low lock" 4 wheelin' habits.

I'm still not used to this push button stuff and (BTM) fake it out locker proceedure.... Still forget to turn off that anti skid crap sometimes....

Also.....Do you remember what tires I had wanted in the first place...Till 4WP's screwed me around and I ended up with the Swampers?

BTW: You should be honored.........You are my number 500......Do you feel special?

I was going by what has happened to other people with wheel slip/sudden grip as well as what's stated about the use of the 4x4 system.  Not saying either is right/wrong here, I made the call and I got bit LOL!  I figured it's cheaper to deal with body damage than a grenaded t-case ...and a lot easier getting home that way lol!
Had I not been in the crap already I would've dumped it but the situation didn't lend itself to it in my opinion ... I learned my lesson .. I'll move on from here and give that hill another shot next time I'm there ... this time in 4L with locked rear and TCS2 LOL!

No, I don't recall but I'm guessing the same BAJA MTZ' I have LOL!

Yes, I feel special ... LOL!

Well, if you can live with your battle scar, then I guess I can live with mine. I got mine from a stump on one of the trails I like to go on. You can drive under it if you are careful. The last time I did it, I had a coworker with me who had never been four wheeling before. It was getting dark, and I was showing off a little and went under the stump when I shouldn't have because of the lack of light. I brushed up against it on the passenger side above the rear window. There is a nice little family of dents like yours, and scuffs and scratches in the paint where it made contact. I thought about having the dents pulled by a paint-less dent remover, but there is no access from behind that panel to push them out from, and I am reluctant to pay a body shop to pull them. The scuffs and scratches will buff.

I'm definitely not paying anyone to take this dent out.  I have the tools to do it myself and I may try to pop it or clean it up a little bit next time I have the interior apart ... but for now ... I will wear it proudly LOL!  I will admit the busted glass is embarrassing ... some guy rolled up next to me at a red light yesterday and asked me if someone tried to steal the truck lol ... Ohh well, I get the new glass today so I'm grinin' :-)

Well, just got home from an eventful day in the mud ... ended up trying to get up a muddy incline and the Deuce slid left .. found myself not getting up, a tree behind me, and the truck kept on sliding ... took some damage as a result :(  Will let the pics speak for themselves ...

Sorry about the tree Nick!!

Thanks Paige ... That was actually the first pic opportunity I had .. the fact that the truck wasn't very dirty made it even better :-)
I will hand it to the folks down there, their park is awesome!  All the trails we took looked pretty much like that .. and there were LOTS of pic opportunities ... I got a really nice tri-pod coming down a hill but the camera did me no good being in my bag in the back seat :(

Yep, tree sucked .. but I'm having new glass put in today, roughly 450 bucks .. could've been a whole heck of a lot worse!!!!!

Now we just need to get an HF outing going at that place :-)

Well, glass guy just called me to tell me they are working on my tubby b*tch right now ... 468 bucks total, should be done here within the hour .. I can NOT wait to see a piece of glass in the back again LOL!  I will however say, the non-tinted hole did increase my visibility though LOL!

If that was my tubby b*tch I would committ ritual suicide .... I like this truck entirely too much to be able to live with that one LOL!

That would be really nice!! I think I would just stand around taking pics while everyone else drove the trails.

You kind of have to drive the trails with us for that LOL!  Or at least ride along with someone.  The park has over 200 miles of wooded trails like that .. would take me a week to get through them all .. assuming I could!

LOL!! How was I to know? I'd be a passenger then, that I could do.

I think the H3's would do better than my deuce on most of those trails due to the difference in size.  I know I got some pretty good pin striping last weekend and I'm now contemplating those magnetic protectors ... I'd be real interested in seeing an H3 take on some of those trails .. Mike, get your ass down to Haspin so we can get your truck muddy .. lol
