i've read one bad review on the rancho 4" lift, the guy took it off not long after putting it on. other than that, i have no opinion. i just like to hear myself type . . . .

I have thought of lifting it, but on second thought I didn't want to compromise ride quality.

Me too, But if GM intended for the Butt to be up like a cat in heat..well so be it..Besides that means you have to realign the headlights and stuff..

aligning the headlights is fun. i used to follow the same guy to work about 3 days a week. i knew they were adjusted right when i stopped getting the finger from him. then i cranked them back up 2".

Lol
You should get behind him with this thing. Would probably burn his finger right off.

Okay, here's a twist...Instead of raising the front end via Torsion bar adjustments like has been discussed to death already..How about, lowering the rear end to match the front end?...Are there any such gizmos, like shorter shackles to do this?

All the lifts (Rancho, Tough country)are purly for looks. No one yet to make a real off-road suspension.
I turned my torsions 2.5 turns, clears 35" w/ no rubbing front or rear!

Rough Country makes a 5 inch lift that seems to work pretty well. I don't know what the price is for it, but I have seen pictures of it in action at a Hummer dealer demo course and it seemed to be pretty good. The H3 was able to tackle the H1 specific obsticles with no problem. It also had 37" tires on the factory rims
