Hi,

I´m planning a long trip through the Sahara desert with my H3 and now I´m looking for a repair manual, for example like those from Haynes.
I didn´t find anything. Does somebody know a repair manual for the H3 or is going to be released one soon?

Thanks,
Daniel

Hi,

I found a dealer who has the same manual with lower shipping costs. But does somebody know this repair manual? Is it good??

Good question..I was hoping someone would take the leap first and let us know if it is worth a crap before I ran down to the dealer to get one.

Ken... THANKS! I just ordered a shop manual for my H3... I was searching on the Internet for hours but couldn't find one. (I didn't search Helm's site.)

Thanks again!

I bought the Helms books for the H3 There are two books and they are very indepth.
The were shipped to me within four days. Very indepth wiring and and troubleshooting included.
The only thing bad is that they refer you to the hand scanning tool for alot of things. Each volume is
over 1000 pages.

Jet,

Besides the scanning tool for the obvious electrical/electronic diagnosis...Is the nuts and bolts kinda removal/replacement steps very good?
Like for redoing brakes and shocks and stuff like that...including torque stettings, etc.

Dennis:
To answer your question yes the manual is very detailed for all aspects of the truck whether
you want to replace your rocker panel, It shows with drawings where to cut off the old one
and where to weld the new one on. It gives thousands of diagrams showing you step by step
procedures for all repairs big or small detailed engine and transmission rebuilding to brake jobs.
In the wiring section it lays out where each component can be found, what it looks like and it even
shows you what the electrical connector looks like and gives you all the wiring harness routing.

I would be sure the one they are selling you is the official Helms published GM service manual set for the H3. The Helms ones are the same ones the dealer service personel use, so they have to be thorough. They are written by GM Service Publications engineers and technicians. Naturally all clearances and torque specs are included, as well as, detailed removal and replacement instructions.
