Hey now! I bitched loudly but I have also maintained just as loudly that I LOVE my H3! It is curently in the shop again for that gosh dawged noise under the hood and a stereo replacement as the other was "bad" according to them...but it still drives great, gets decent gas mileage, looks cool and I love it! And by the way after letting my new stainless punch grill and lettering sit in the box for 3 weeks, I finally had the time to slap em on this weekend, adding just a tad of bling and I LUB IT!!! Hubby was like "why you wanna put that stuff all on it?" (He's a minimalist) - I said "because it's MY ride, I like it and I WANT TO!" He even liked it when I got done with it.
And despite the BS GM put me thru and the head replacement...if I had it to do all over again...I'D DO IT AGAIN!
If there ever was a testimonial to owning an H3, it couldn't have come from a better place (for those who have followed LawWyfe's odyssey). I pick mine up Friday (AT LAST it has arrived! and will post pics soon thereafter), so I don't have the experience with driving the H3 that she or everyone else has, but I have had experience with bad businesses and would not deal with them again. I am looking forward (actually I am climbing the walls! lol) to experiencing the Hummer full time myself.........

Joe, congrats!! Good luck with it - I know you will love it and have fun with it - if you go into ownership with the right mindset. You did the smart thing in researching and reading posts here to gleen info on it before purchasing so you should have no surprises. Again, head replacement and all..I'd do it again...my only huge gripe all along was my treatment from GM along the way. My dealers treat me well and luckily for me are fairly closeby, and I had a great buying experience. So all in all...life is good...even though I still have not received my extended warranty LOL....Get those pics up ASAP and ENJOY! (And BTW, I am not a glutton for punishment and I don't allow people <businesses> to screw me over either as a rule...However my H3 is worth some hassle!)

Hey, Dennis, i try to post my avator but it says the file is too large, how do you fix that ? TIA..
I think the Avatar picture can only be 135 x 135.... Like Darth said, reduce it using a picture manager, Windows XP has one with the OS.

I've had mine since Dec of 05, have almost 15,000 ,iles on it and the only issues I have had were a tron CV boot, and later I grenaded that halfshaft while off road. Both times the parts and labor were covered under warranty. When the halfshaft broke, I drove it 45 miles to the dealership with the busted piece spinning around busting up more stuff. It was all covered under warranty and the dealer knew I was off roading it. I also got a free rental until mine was ready. I doubt you could beat that kind of service from any other vehicle, including Jeep.
The short story is, The warranties are great, and if you have problems with it, the biggest problem will be the added planning to take it in to the dealer if there isn't one close to you. The odds are in your favor of buying one without any problems, but if you do, you are covered by probably the best warranty in the business.

What the deal on off roading and the warranty? It's an off road vehicle so wouldn't breakage be covered without a hassle??

We've had our 2007 H3 since late december 2007, and have around 12000 miles on it, with no troubles. If the H3 suits your needs, I would highly recommend it.

Picked up my '07 about 3 weeks ago with 2500 miles on the odo. It has 5500 miles on it now and I LOVE it! I bailed out of a '06 Dodge Cummins that I had a few problems with as well as getting spooked by expensive diesel upkeep. I set up my H3 with toolboxes, roof racks and a rear hitch carrier and it is working great for my job, much to the skepticism of the folks out in the oilfield. Just had the oil changed to Castrol synthetic yesterday. This baby is going to be pampered...
No problems, except for the intermittant locking problem with BOTH of the key fobs...

When I decided to purchase new vehicle, I was in love w/ the H3s, but also questioned their reliability. I narrowed down my options to a 4Runner and the H3. I knew what the 3 could do, how cool it looked, and how badly I wanted one when they came out. I was considering the 4Runner for pretty much reliability only. Guess what I chose? I drive by the Hummer dealership everyday to/from work and knew that I would have regret (and penis envy) if was in a 4Runner. Don't make that mistake. If you want it, then get it.
I've never bought something major and not had at least a little buyers remorse...until I made this purchase. I love it so much, in fact, that my parents bought one a month later. The only issue I've had in 3 months of ownership is a steering shaft replacement, which is about to be in the works. As this problem seems like its becoming very popular, I won't be surprised if GM issues a recall (pending on your purchase, you'll probably avoid this). I can even attest to the off-roading and warranty situation. I knocked my alignment off a little while messing around and the dealer fixed it free w/out question. All in all, these things are just flat out fun!
Just wanted to share my story in hopes of convincing you to join the team. Hope it helps!

Wish the wife would support me... All she keeps saying is that its so ugly. In any case I have a deal pending and a deposit on a vehicle that they are holding for me till Saturday so I can make up my decision.

Remind her who is paying for it Tomm. Typically a vehicle plays a more important part in a man's life. The H3 makes a completely different statement than the other SUV's. Most of those are soccer Moms driving 2WD SUV for impressions only. The Hummer walks the talk. I can't imagine a Lexus or BMW even wanting to get their wheels dirty.
I promise you she will quickly learn to love it. Don't cave in just to please your wife 'cause everytime you see an H3 you will regret your choice!
Come on Guys, Tomm is teetering here. We need to push him into that H3!!!!

Go for it Tom...You can even sleep in the H3 if you have to...

After some thought...Consider this (you know your wife better than us)..But, If you get it and she is not 100% behind you and one little thing goes wrong, you'll probably never hear the end of it...

Excuse me D Vader but the comment "remind her who is paying for it"?????????? Isn't that a pretty sexist comment!
They are married and just guessing I'm sure they are both working so they would actually BOTH be paying for it...
Tomm why not take your wife out for a test drive in the H3??? I loved it the first time I saw mine but other women may take a little convincing. I bet she will love it once she gets in one, the height difference is a great advantage, and the size just makes you feel safer when driving... why not let her drive it she will fall in love with it!! I wouldn't trade mine for anything!!!

Jennifer,
Actually D Vader knows me personally and he knows I work 12-14 hours a day to pay for everything so the wife can stay home and raise the kids. To someone else I can see you thinking it might be sexist. Actually my wife likes trucks and I am usually the car person. For the past 10 years she has only had nice luxury trucks. Right now she has a Lincoln Navigator so when looking at the hummer its a downgrade to her. I am also coming from owing a Cadillac so its very different for me. What I like about the hummer is its unique look and with the kids growing I have to move out of a car and with gas prices so high I dont want a large 9 mpg suv.
I have a deposit on one right now and I have till Saturday to decide if I will take it or get my refund back. I am looking at all my options and its the little things that I will miss like separate climate controls since she is always hot and I am always cold. Little things like that that are not available on an H3.

D Vader I apologize...
Tomm I understand your dilemma if the wife is getting the luxury suv that she wants then, it is more than reasonable that you should have what you want. The wife does work even being a stay at home Mom and raising your children don't you think!
Good luck in whatever vehicle you decide to go with.

Thanks... The catch is the Navigator is averaging 9-10 mpg so when possible when she is out without the kids shes been taking my cadi which gets around 17-18 which is close to that of the H3. So if I get the H3 and she hates it that means she wont drive it and that would cost me more money in gas if she takes the Navigator everywhere. I work from home so my cars always have low miles since I only use them at night and the weekends. She drives everywhere taking the kids all over.. We are spending almost $400 a month in gas which is such a waste of money so I will have to keep drilling her about how much she will love the H3 over time..

My son on the other hand although he is only 3 loves it so I am sure when they go out he will want mom to take dad's car.

I got the lux3 pkg on my Hummer but it lacks a lot of stuff from my Caddy. Both Tomm & I have the CTS. It's nice to have all those controls on your steering wheels too. The cost of the two vehicles are very close.
For me the H3 was an exciting change to something different. I know it turns a lot of heads.

Peeps around me herre in OKC are getting use to seeing the H3 everywhere now and I don't get near as many questions or stares anymore.....or maybe it's that I've taken the dead Prius owner's body off the hood...I don't know which it is...
