My alpha won't start, i have read several posts on here about engine problems with this vehicle.  When I try to start the car it will run very rough for a few seconds with very low rpm's and just quit.  I tried both sets of keys so it can't be the anti theft because the indicator will turn off when i insert the key, i unpluged the battery, and that didn't fix it.  I called onstar and they said everything was fine.  Any suggestions?  I can't get it to the dealer till monday.  I hope there is just a quick fix for it.

Bought gas from a Costco or other discounter? Flooded the car trying to start it? How many miles? Time for fuel or air filters?

Doesn't he have an Alpha? Can't be time for the filters already. Check vacuum lines?

You have ignition wires, I would check to make sure they are all secure, as noted a vacuum line could be loose or cracked. If it is not starting right away and you are pumping the gas pedal that is not a good thing to do with EFI. Just turn your key before you hit it to start and see if you hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds to build up your fuel pressure then turn the key to start without touching the gas pedal. You can aso disconnect the ground side of the battery and let it sit for 10 minutes than that will reset everything and then you have to reprogram stuff. Could have some bad gas?

It's the fuel pump, i didn't hear it turn on like before, i checked the fuse and it's good.  I guess it needs to be towed.

It turned out to be the fuel pump relay, simple fix, they also replaced the main belt because of a squeek.

Damn, that's not good. How many miles do you have on your truck?

Hmm....interesting! If you had a belt squeak, make sure they adjusted the steering pump pulley wheel.....otherwise it will squeak again....
