ok i have been told that i have beaten a dead horse with the rim question well, i want to see if now..... days, months or years if anyone that added 20's, 22's and the camera or any other add on's had any regrets.......hopefully the guru's of this site will understand my question....i have had my h3 for almost 2 years and i want to do some add ons.......i have only been a member of this forum for a few months.....yes i did do a search and emailed a few people but they are too busy to respond back and i understand that..... i want anyone that has had them a while to tell me how they feel now to help me now what i need to consider.......if that is ok

It depends on what your planning to do with your truck. If your going to go off-road than it is a must to get:
Underbody Protection
Rock Rails
Better Tires
If your going for looks than whatever works for you. Personally I prefer the Brush Guard, Roof Rails, and Taillight Protectors.
You'll never see me pimp it out.

I offroad my H3, and these are my absolutely worth it add-ons:
Underbody Protection
Rock Rails
Better Tires
(see a pattern yet?)
Also worth it for me:
rear u-bolt skids
leveling and cognitos
front window tint (in the desert, ya know)
The Big Three - intake, exhaust, pcm tune. (for on-road use. Exhaust tips actually get in the way of off-roading, trust me. I'm on my second set of tips)
CB radio, easier than the little radios.
Worth it for the fun of it:
chrome (it confuses people to see bling and dirt together)
Regrets:
Intake was only Airraid. Would like to get Doc's intake. Open filter concerns me sometimes, gets really dirty quickly on dusty trails. May go to K&N, closed box, Doc's intake.

It's your choice, you can put what ever makes YOU happy on your truck! Although everyone has had some very good suggestions. Have fun.

Not going to cover the off road area, I think Alrock and Trey did that well.
On road:
*Roof Marker Lights - Love them
*Side Step Bars - Much easier to get in and out if you like that look (took mine off, just like it better that way myself. But the wife still has them on hers)
*Chrome Fuel Door
*HID lights or Plug and Play replacement
*LED taillights
*Back Up Camera - Makes backing up ALOT easier
*Level the front - Just makes the whole truck look better and also helps slightly with the rear view
*Chrome/Billet surrounds for your your emblems and lights
Alot More, wait until HummBob gets here. He will fill you in.

So do you think the stuff you have added so far was worth it to you? Sounds like you have started down the accessories path with the rest of us.

yeah but i think the add-on's i made were worth it but i am curious about wheel selections other h3 owners made and their opinion and this back up camera that people put on. i guess to clarify i am asking about after-market add-ons more

So true it's a slippery slope once you get started with add-ons you just can't stop.
I've added so many things to my H3 and I still have a few more things that I want. I guess there is light at the end of the tunnel, I'm only down to tires and winch bumper after that I can't get anything else until the H4 comes out.

My H3 is a pavement pounder. Got 4WD for the snow and mud. My plan is to go with the 20" rim. It's important to keep the overall diameter the same so it doesn't mess up your odo and other electronics.
Here's the rim I have picked out for my black H3.

you are right it is a slippery slope, you want to customize your machine to fit your personality.....thanks on the rim suggestion...may the force be with you.....anyone have any camera suggestions.......also i have seen the rear spoiler on ebay for a good deal....i am not sure the rear spoiler fits the hummer look what you guys think....

Someone put the spoiler on their H3 recently. I can't remember who right this second, I will go look and find it. Didn't look too bad if that's the look you want. I think he's in Florida also. BRB

I swear that I thought
fragss put one on his H3 but either I can't find it or I'm being impatient (probably the latter). But I found a pic of one on an H3 at

Cross tires off I'm getting them before I go away in May to the Hummer Club Trip. As for the winch that will be down the road maybe for Christmas.
I've said it before a spoiler, really, why? I know everyone has to do their own thing but c'mon a spoiler!?!

as all here has siad it all depends on what you are going to do with your 3
you need to ask yourself
a) am i going to wheel it through the bush tracks?
then you will need
rock rails (don't i know this first hand)
all the under body protection
tyres are big plus
and the normal 4x4 add ons cb radios snatch straps and ect
b)am i going to bling it and not use it off road
then you can do what ever you wish
bling bling
don't forget to vote for your favorite foriegner yellow
